innocent heart after reading couple of your posts I can relate you to a dialog from a very good Hindi movie "ANKUSH".......it was something like "yeh hare huey admi ki chinghad hai, ise par koi dhyan nahi dega".......so dude move on. Plan your strategy for success in Canada.
If you are on EI, don't waste this time. Make full use of the time, you will not know how this time has passed and you are back standing in the labor lines.
I have been on this board for long enough to recognize the EI funded desh bhakat showering their wealth of knowledge for free.
My 2 cents...it is up to you take it or leave.

Hello Dudewheresmycar,

I fully agree on this aspect and that is the only major reason for not goign to India.I worked for 10 years and after nine years in Canada, I am scare that I can do that or not. You have to pass through daily Bossisum kind of
culture and you are giving same type of life to your kids if you decide to live permenantly.

I got lots of valuable points here in this thread and that make me to think again and only some luxury which is in India but not here , I think I can compromise . Some one said that there is nothing wrong to do your daily home work yourself rather than hiring maid etc.I accept that very heartly. If you have some time than do it yourself. For kids, I think , you can put thme into some International school in India that way they will get familar with culture and society.I am not sure what will be the best age to put kids in hostel. Grade 7 to 9 or Grade 10 to 12.If anyone has valuable input please write down.

I have a one request here: Please do not spoil the thread. If you can add some valuable input than it is most welcome but there are different thread for discussion like regionalism, reservation, etc. Please visit those and write down your view.

P.S.: It is very difficult to change world around than to change yourself.

Since you are looking forward to return to India , you might find the following link worth reading

http://news.in.msn.com/business/article.aspx?cp-documentid=1315562 (Booming India lures NRI executives home) . --- 'Non-resident Indian (NRI) executives are preferring cutting chai over Starbucks and never-ending workdays back home to cushy 9-to-5 jobs abroad.'

I know of this friend of mine who returned to India after 6 years in the US and is quite content with the plush job he s having and his kids going to an International school . He still frequently visits abroad due to his International exposure .

Chances are that overseas experience would be recognized in India ... hence one might be in a good stance .... all the best .

In India, though highly populated, thing has changed which we left some time ago. I am out of India since 1999 ( 9 yeras). I used to get say approx. 1,50,000 ( 1.5 lacs rupees). My co workers are getting around 12,00,000( 12 lacs Rupees) now. That is huge jump! Things has changed too much in 9 yeras.I am doing same kind of job what I was doing in India.

New generations is getting good salary and enjoying lots of material life which we are talking about here in North America.

I will hear from you guys that there is lot of pollution of water and air. But that has also cure. If u get sick go to doctor . Small illness is very common in India but at the same time it is getting cured also very fast. Here health care system is very bad. Until you are not serios ill, you will not see doctors.

Please share your opinion on this.

I am sorry for not replying your question.

First of all thank you very much who contributed to this thread and gave me thier thoughts. This discussion is very help to me as well as some other person who are confused about this .

As my son is in grade 9 and he studied all his grades here in canada, it will be very difficult to write him an exam for three hours with Indian style of paper writing based exam. I am thinking to find out some international school where exam pattern is different. At the same time those school are quite expensive. My search is going on .

At the same time I prefer to live here in pollution free environement and less corrupted system . Culture values are maintained in our family upto now and I hope in coming years It will be there as I saw some family they are maintaining very well.I think if you give your kids eduction for 2-3 years in India at age of 12 that makes a lots of difference.I strongly recommends to those parents who has daughter in their home and never studied /lived India for longer time.

Keep discussion going on !Share your thoughts .
