Are you there?
I am not sure if u guys consider it as a TV serial but Mahabhart was one of the best I saw in India.. I wouldn't miss a single episode of that epic drama. Well i did enjoy Ramayan.. too. and 'Ek Kahani'... 'Katha Sagar' .. 'Vikram aur Vaital' ... 'Dada Dadi ki Kahani'.. In the night (the dinner time entertainment) my favorite was the Doordarshan News and 'Mungeri lal ke haseen Sapne'..
Malgudi Days also was good.. i think i liked serials with short stories rather than long stories of Buniyaad and Hunlog.. although Humlog became one of my favorites during its second run
HAPPY HOLI to All !!

Hey Guys,
I still remember most of these serials mentioned by you all in earlier posts. However, there were a couple more I used to watch religiously. One of them was 'Junoon' and the other was a little known 'Byomkesh Bakshi'. I liked the 'suspense and thrill' I used to get from these serials.
There was one more I liked but I left India in the middle of that serial. It was called 'Ghutan' and has Kiran Kumar in a very different role alongwith Smita Jayker and Tom Alters. I really wish some times that DD would make these serials available of DVDs and I would love to have them in my collection.
I would not be able to comment on serials made by Zee TV, Sony or the likes, as even when I was in India in mid 90's, I never subscribed to Cable there and would only watch DD-1 & DD Metro.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
Wow,
This post rekindled the old memories and golden days when Doordarshan was the only source of entertainment.
Well, the serials cherished by me apart from the few mentioned in previous posts include : Waagle Ki Duniya, Yatra (which had Ompuri as the host), Rajni, Neem ka Ped and few others whose name I am not able to recall now.
Real life stories like 'Hello Zindagi' produced by Nalini Singh were also a delight to watch.
Great time indeed !

I was very ocasional viewer of serials - but mostly watched all of "Bharat Ek Khoj"!
I simply can't see serials like Buniyaad or Humlog continuously, but wathced very few episods for each of above mentioned serials.
One more serial I liked was Malgudi Days!
Other choices are - Yatra, Chanakya and ofcourse Mahabharat.
Don't remember any other serials for now!
The serial I hate most is "Krisna" from Ramanand Sagar!
