Sometime ago I started a thread on getting emails from a guy who wants to promote Hindi and asked if any of you were receiving the same.
Here is a sample. His take is there is no Hindi in our films
Anyway, read on.
Role of Hindi in Forming Nation
Many people say that Urdu is a Bhaaratiya language and English has also become a Bhaaratiya language.
It will be like saying in the European Union that English is a European language and therefore there is no harm in bringing English in to French or Italian channel or French and Italian News.
A stupid argument always stays stupid, no matter what and where it is used. Our main problem is that Bhaaratiya Schools only produce technicians, and not individuals who have insight in to these issues.
Urdu is such a non-phonetic language, vocabulary just enough to address human emotional issue, but not deep enough to address the modern world. Hindi has the support of whole of the Sanskrit treasures to back it. The language and its categories are the carriers of a culture, a world view, an ethos. These categories are significantly different between the Hindi and Urdu, the Urdu fits the world view in partitions, and Hindi fits the world view of simultaneously being Advaitic hence not only dualistic and partitioned but simultaneously integrated in to one single whole. The Namaskar is not Aslaamvalekum or Aadab-arz; it conveys a totally different world view. A pooja is not a prayer, a yajnya has no equivalent, Bhuttas have not equivalent, a Manas or Buddhi has no equivalent word in Urdu. And the list goes on and on.
All kinds of Hindi media use lots of Urdu and English words in Hindi.
Some people by using Urdu, Arabic, Turkish words in Hindi while proper Hindi words are available, want to show that they are still slave of Muslims or want to be slave of Muslims. Looking from any angle, it looks that such persons do not want to be free from slavery mentality but keep showing that they are mentally slave people or want to slave of Muslims or British people. There is one Hindi word, known as Aantargat, which means to be under some body or under some thing. The equivalent Urdu word for to be under someone is Tahat. If one listens to any Hindi media program or watches Hindi film or Hindi TV program, one will always hear the word Tahat from all sorts of Hindi media people, which shows that most of the Hindi media people want to be slave of Muslims.
Hindi media people would never say Ab ek Dhristi …, but would always say Ab Ek Nazar Khabro par or on something else. It shows that most Hindi media people are blind as well people. Now a days no body speaks pure Hindi. It seems that Hindi media is bet upon destroying Hindi for appeasing Muslims and also for showing that Bhaaratiya people are still mentally slave of its former colonist masters.
From educated people, Prime Minister to the peon none of them can speak in any one given language in pure form say for even two minutes. They have to use Urdu and English words in every sentence.
Buddha offers sop to Muslims
After getting a bloody nose from the Jamat-e-Ulema-I-Hind in the peasants' movement in Nandigram and realising that the agitation may affect the ruling Left Front's minority votes, the West Bengal Government is planning to win back Muslims through a host of schemes that include recognising Urdu as the second State language, besides launching a massive publicity blitzkrieg.
According to Prof Akeel Bilgrani, Professor of Philosophy, Columbia University , the Muslims in North India lament about the loss of status of Urdu. And that is the reason for their alienation and backwardness. It seems that the West Bengal government has heard these words of wisdom, and now the Muslims will make a progress unheard of in the recent past.
Urdu is a tool to KEEP Muslims backward and dependent on the government. That is why the WB Government is giving sops of Urdu language to them
Politicians are openly soliciting votes from Christians and Muslims and giving them favor. But, if a Hindu asks for its rights or favours like construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, he will be labeled communal and narrow-minded.
Personal salvation CANNOT come at the expense of a nation and our dharma.
New Delhi: The famed University of southern India is coming down heavily on Hindi, Sanskrit and Portuguese languages.
The University has decided to cut down on the languages as they say that the demand for these language courses at the undergraduate level is declining day by day.
However, the decision is not as simple as it seems. Many of the faculty members are up in arms at the decision, with some having taken voluntary retirement at the decision.
Others say that the decision is of dubious legality. They say that the cut means students will have reading knowledge of the languages, but no writing or spoken knowledge. The Faculty of Oriental Studies says that Hindi and Sanskrit have already been cut as a full BA honours degree subject.
To be a nation, Bhaaratiya mentally slave people must at least adopt and practice a common national language. Let them have English as a tool, not as their mother. To say that all Indian languages are national languages means legitimizing numerous nationalities. It is not for nothing that the Indian Muslims, right from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Assam to Gujarat , are proud of Urdu as their Qaumi language and use it gracefully, while Hindus detest or treat Hindi as an untouchable. By doing so, they themselves have become untouchables in the political arena, nationally and internationally. Hindi media load Hindi with Urdu and English words.
For learning Hindi, following some things should be done:-
There are lots of Hindi organisations still it is not spreading; One just wonders what is the reason for it. It is apparent that Hindi organizations are not doing the job properly. If any Hindi organization teaches Hindi to 10 - 15 students, then how does it matter?
The people who belong to Hindi organizations, should write or go and meet the Hindi film producers to persuade them to give cast of Hindi film in Hindi, at least more than half the cast of Hindi film in Hindi. They should go and meet the commercial manufacturers / producers to write Hindi on the labels of their products. They should persuade shop keepers to write Hindi on their sign boards and also write Hindi on the flyers, leaflets and on the wrapping materials. For spreading Hindi, it must be visible all around all the time. Now a days English is seen all around. Hindi must replace English from all visible places, so that the world should know that Bhaarat has got its own languages.
They should persuade media people to use pure Hindi. Hindi magazine Saral Salil, (Publications of Delhi press) gives English lessons in this Hindi magazine. Magazines like Grah Sobha, Meri Saheli, Grah Laxmi, Hindi edition of India Today write English words like Cooking in one tearful spoon of oil in Nagri script. What kind of Hindi it is? Hindi films are full of English and Urdu words. In fact there is less Hindi in Hindi films as compared to Urdu and English words. Hindi media is destroying Hindi. It is the duty of the people of Hindi organisations to stop such nuisance. One does not see any intelligence and achievement of Hindi Pracharaks. Many times people wonder what is wrong with these people.
There are lots of Hindi organisations in America , Canada , and England etc. These people publish one quarterly magazine which is usually full of Urdu words.
Many times people get the feeling that these are Urdu magazines written in Nagri. They also arrange one Kavi Sammelan once a year, which is usually more Mushiara than kavi Sammelan. I have never seen any true kavi Sammelan in my life.
I contacted the president of Toronto Hindi organisation. I said that we arrange one localised Hindi Gamelan for ways of spreading Hindi and also to persuade Hindi film producers to give cast in Hindi of their Hindi films and also to persuade govt. to make laws in this direction for forcing producers to give cast of Hindi films in Hindi. And I will give seed money, for this purpose. First he said that he knows Bhaaratiya Commissioner in Toronto . With his help we will make arrangement for such Hindi Sammalen. Then he said that he is more than 60 years old, has diabetes, heart problems and thus did not do any thing.
Many times I compare Chinese people and Hindus. If you look any Chinese program, they are usually very informative and all programs are in Chinese language without use of any English word. Although I do not understand Chinese program, but they were showing how to attach DVD players to your TV and what is meant by all the buttons and plugs. And after wards they are showing simple things of car which an ordinary person should check himself rather taking to shop. Go to any Hindi programme on TV, there is nothing except dance, music, with shaking hips and film songs.
Some of the words I do not understand the meaning, so I am hesitant to use while speaking. They could be hindi or urdu. Is there a link that would translate?

For those who do not know about origin of urdu let me share it with u--
1-'Urdu' is a Turkish word which means 'foreign' or 'horde'.
2-It was formulated by the interaction of foreign army, merchants and immigrants to India in the reign of mughal emperor AKBAR.
3-the grammar of Urdu is quite similar to Hindi , the Arabic script and Islamicate vocabulary.[i.e.--The vocabulary is 80 % of Islamicate origin, being loaned from Arabic, Pharsi and Turkish, devnagari words account for
10 %, while Sanskrit account for another 10 %. ]
4-Islamicate sounds such as `z', `kh', `gh', `q', and `w' which are absent in Indo-Aryan languages, are part of the Hindustani alphabet. Sanskrit sounds such as `ksh' `sh' the different types of n. the differect `d's, t, d-r etc. are omitted.
5-Urdu involves numerous elements of Arabic as well as Persian.
It also derives some matter from Sanskrit, a language still spoken in the city of Multan in Pakistan.
6-Though not a very old language, Urdu is a language full of charm and elegance, a language that holds literature so courtly.
The forte of the language has been and still is it's literature that has some master pieces. Likewise, poets like Mirza Ghalib, Allama Iqbal, Faiz Ahmed Faiz have had a give and take relation with the language.
6-Today, it is the national language of Pakistan But by no means you can say it is muslim's language--for islamic people Arabic is their first language what they must learn.''but urdu is the most widely spoken Islamicate language''
So now you understood URDU is very much bhartiya bhasha---
*write /poet Rahi masum 'rajaa' also once wrote in his story'topi shukla' hindi and urdu can not live separate---
thanks
