The situation of Desis coming to canada is very different from that of desis going to ME . I can tell with all confidence in world tat a desi person in ME has better chances of getting hired in ME that a arab( in private sector which offcoure account for most of job scene).

South asians have a reputation to be very hardworking and reliable down there( to a arab/native). Well everything in the world is comparative . But here scene is very very different. Canadian are quite hardwokin ppl. And desis are not as established in canada as in to ME., where majority of private enterprises are owned by desis and also have huge number of desis in management which i think is a advantage.

Only recently did the propects for desis dim there due to visa restrictions and qoutas placed on jobs for non nationals.

Both cannot be really compared its like apples and oranges ,

In ME its about accumulating wealth and then getting the hell out ( which is most ppls mentality down in ME, even though lots of them stay long long periods ) .Its next immto possible to get nationality in most states . (Saudi changed laws recently, but its still quite hard unless yr in top bracket )

While to Canada, its a new home, and the laws are such as to keep $ earned here to be kept here.

So theres a entirely 2 different choices . for those proffessionals who wanna make big bucks and go to homeland eventually i think ME has it .

For immigration in its real sense its canada , ME is rather guest worker thing, then theres no tax in ME so...

Mr DAS_FX

Your points are even valid for people brought up and educated here.Except for the English part, for we know no other English except Canadian and even then I sometimes question myself as to the adequacy of certain students in the only language they know.
On campus, there are plenty of seminars to prepare the students for the job market and believe you me, tons of students are ignorant of what is needed for an effective interview.
The fact that newspapers carry several such articles only goes to prove that one needs to constantly remind oneself of the changing needs of an interview.
Keep right on plodding, despite all the negative reviews you receive.

not only should you brush your teeth twice a day, but you should change your underwear everyday. just incase you have a car accident, and the doctor needs to peal of your dirty underwaer.

just a few more good tips for interviews.
