Hi everybody,
We have all tried gas station, security, temporory day labour, cab driving etc. Now lets think a little out of the box and give these (traditional white bastions) a shot.
(1) If you have completed 3 years in Canada or are already a citizen - try joining canadian Army/Navy/Air Force as an officer. Canadian forces are facing a shortage - you can opt for full time or reserves. RCMP is another choice.
(2) Train hard in the gym for about 6 months and then do a personal trainer course. These guys easily make 35 - 50 $ an hour.
(3) I am not sure if Ontario govt is recruiting but you can try other provinces for Police / Fire Fighters etc.
(4) Acting: We have been acting up in the interviews so why not try studios in Toronto. People who think they can crack others up should consider becoming stand up comedians. Adult film industry is another place to make some extra cash for adventurous people.
(5) Diving: Professional divers make good money and the job is hardly a job. Again You need some formal training which is around a 1000 $.
(6) Join an outsides Sales job if you have a car and like to meet people and pursue a management/ business degree in the evening - you probably will never like to back to a job in your field.
(7) Yoga Instructor : Being an east indian and having some command over Sanskrit will give you an edge over others - but you need to know it yourself first . Can think of formal training during your next visit to India.
(8) For IT guys - just dont sit on your bum and whine - try these freelancing sites - rentacoder.com , http://www.getafreelancer.com" rel="nofollow">LINK, in fact you can team up and register a company- doesnt cost much in Ontario - even if you can't get a real project you still have some (admittedly fake )canadian experince to boot.
