Difference between Page Views and Hits

As an advertiser you need to know the differences between page views and hits. Many websites do sell their ad space based on the number of hit. The number of hits is a wrong measure to judge how many people will be seeing your ad. When every time a single item on a page is being accessed, a server considers it as a hit. For example, if a page with 20 images is being accessed single time, the server is going to count 21 hits and not a single hit. Whereas page views is the number of times a page is being accessed and that is the real measure an advertiser should consider.
