Currently in planning stage - suggestions are welcome via PM or on the board. We have about 14 kids under the age of 12 - so appropriate games/activities suggestions welcome.

Simon Says
Pin the donkey's tale.
Passing the parcel / Hot Potatoes
Throwing 3 balls in a distant bucket
Pinata

come to my mind offhandedly ...

- Saakli (chain) - old game which we can teach the kids

- Musical chairs with adults standing with their hands on their hips

- Lemon in spoon race

- Tug of War

Some that came to mind easily.

What is the time? Meeting point?

Will need music for most of the suggested games. Anybody bringing portable PA System or a Boom box ?
is it allowed in the park ?

This is my request and a suggestion to the Cd's who are handling the necessities here for a successful start, the running and the completion of the PICNIC.

1) Please ask the caterers to do the necessary dividing in their premises and help us with the ease of handing out the meals in quick and elegant manner. That will eliminate the line formation. (Hopefully in a styro-foam container with a lid.)

2) Many kids do not drink Tea or Coffee. So, an alternate drink for them, please.

3) As for snacks, a Banana, an Orange or an Apple will be in the higher preferential order,

4) An Extra serving of a package for a surprised arrival or any boo-boos. Want to see everyone happy.

5) See through Plastic bags for re-usable collection after its use. (Garbage) Cans separate..

6) A small note of caution.: Please bring in your rain gear, expecting SIX (6) millimeters of rain from Ten AM on wards. SATURDAY. Hope it is not a continuous drizzle.

7) Would appreciate proper directions to the participants from North, South, West and East to the Car park adjacent to the picnic area. I am sure there will be 10-12 vehicles there. Also the Park timings when they get opened and the closing too. Location of the Jhonnies and the bring your own paper for hygiene, wet nappies etc., and if there be any running water, then a roll of Paper Towel for drying. (A small list of Park Rules, the Dos and Don'ts for that location.)

Please add to this if you have any preferences or any allergies. It will make our Picnic a great success when we try and help make it into one.

FH.

Very good points FH ,

Important things.

Line formation is inevitable as the spot finalized currently has one table... Perhaps we can pull in another when other participants have joined ..But will get the food in 2 sets each.

Fruit chosen was watermelon but can be swapped with bananas. Replaced.

For kids not taking tea , there s pop and fruite juice drink.

Would need 2 grocery trolleys if someone can bring them please ... Can be used for putting in garbage bags.

Still awaiting for vounteers for getting tea .... Even if you can get 5 cups in a thermos , 6-7 of these would suffice .... I am preparing and getting raita.

Rain rain ...go away ....don't have any tips for it other than provided by FH .... Will add some table cloth / shower curtain liner from Dollarama to the list for covering the food if needed.

PLEASE GET YOUR OWN CHAIRS .... OR BE WILLING TO SIT ON THE GRASS / MATS.

Mats ... Can some one get some mats / bedsheets which can be spread on the ground ?

Directions will be PM d tin detail to each member Thursday ... just waiting a confirmation. Park remains open till 10pm

Add on - There s an open public swimming pool in 5 minutes walking distance .. in case anyone wishes to , please get your swim suit and a towel accordingly ... On a hot summer day , nothing comes close to a splash ... but this one is not expected to be hot ...However if some people wish to , after 6 pm or so , a swim can be a very refreshing ending !!!! Me and my kids would most likely do it !!!
