True ... I was eyeing huge watermelons yesterday @ a store & wondering how many would we need . At that size ($7 each) , 2 would suffice the whole group.

Can anyone recommend where to source Biryani from ?? I know only of Iqbals but am sure there would be other options also. Has anyone tried Biryani King and if yes what are the prices / quality ?

Iqbals (as known from a friend) per plate with raita is $9/ plate but one plate can suffice 3 people when accompanied with chana bhatura .. Likewise 2 plate CB should accommodate 3 people when accompanied with biryani . so roughly for 35 adults ...

(23CB *2.5) + (12B *9)=57.5+108 = 165 + Taxes

Do you prefer idlis to biryani ?? ... Please indicate your preference on the sheet for idli / biryani ..Idlis can help reduce cost also. Leave blank if indifferent...

Similarly for Gulabjamun or cake , please indicate in the spreadsheet in the last 2 columns.

And we will source accordingly.

Just noticed Iqbals (menu above) has something known as Plain Biryani Rice also which I am assuming would be rice w/o the veggies thrown in .. @ 1/2 price ($4.49 / plate) ... we can decide to go for this as well , which along with raita can be a good combo. ( This is besides CB that is )

I would prefer Idli-chutney over Biryani - a good alternative for those preferring low spice, especially kids.

Amongst biryani - veg biryani is better than plain rice - unless you have a spicy curry to accompany the plain rice.

Like I felt would be < or = $10 per adult for snacks , lunch & tea.

Please update last 2 columns per your preference and we can revise.

I will volunteer to get the raita , need 1 or 2 people for getting the tea for 35-40 people @ 75ml or 3 litres .. $10/- Tim Hortons gift card can be kept aside for this just as a token of appreciation.

Trying to keep a round figure of $10 per adult , budget left for games / activities ~ $40/- ... I am sure the games and activities team is working on their plans to provide the 'Yay' factor to the gathering
