When I started working for my present company (sorry..I am not going to name it), I was given a form where I was told to specify my ethnic origin. I was told that this data is to be submitted to the Federal government since the government looks at these numbers before awarding contracts.

I believe this is an example of systematic racism that exist in Canada.

Ok, i think thi sforum is a waste of time.
Canada is one of the worlds most multicultural diverse countries.
That being said, does it mean its perfect? NO!
If you came here expecting things to be perfect, you are in a fantasy world. need i point out how biased (and i am being VERY polite), our countries are? Fighting like dogs over land and much other unrest?
Its VERY easy to point fingers rather than be a part of the solution.
Yes racism is hard to swallow, but you can either sit here and complain about it or do something with yourself and effect positive change. You really have to keep in mind where it comes from. Often by peopel who lack the knowlege of other cultures, etc OR ones who feel they have ben cheated. We ALL have biases and yes NO ONE is perfect.
I am sorry you had to experience racism btu i also beleive what you are doing is wrong. What IS the point of posting that "racism exists in canada"?
You are not pointing out some shocking news. Show me one place in the world where it does not exist and i shall shut up... but then also show me one other place on this planet where you can see such diversity as in Canada.
Focus on the positive, not the negative.

Desi Stud, here no one is trying to establish that Canada or this world is perfect. And if this forum or post is a wastage of time for you than don’t waste your time. I don’t think any one forced you to waste your precious time here.

This is a public forum so you must not expect that everything would be as per your own way of thinking. I would suggest you not tell us.. how and what to talk.
