Do u know what a canadian exp. is?

They want labours to run their factories, Waiters in hotels, taxi drivers , electricians, plumbers.

I am working in a very good reputed company and at low level position .

You said it by yourself.

Your Canadian experience is not working on ODD jobs. You are working in a reputed company but at LOWER level.

Professionalism would be to learn more and show the organization what you can bring in as your past experience and credintials, then grow with the company.

SEE NOT ALL PROFESSIONALS WORK ON ODD JOBS IN CANADA....;)

Visit an employment website. Are those the only jobs that you see?

No crenshaw, they aren't the only jobs. But the fact remains that in Canada they are looking for non professional experience for an office job too, or vice versa. there are advertisements asking for accountants or persons with accounting qualifications - and the job requires knowledge of data entry in a particular software. You know that I had recently gone for an interview - that was for a 45 k job and you have asked me how did it go, which I have not replied toas yet. The interview went well, and I did underplay my experience and levels that I had worked at. But in the end, on asking what her first reaction was to the interview, she replied 'I know Chandresh you have all the knowledge needed for the job and you are a professional who has worked from bottom of ladder - but you know, you do not have the specific experience (of using Simply) (and preparing individual invoices).

Now does it mean that if I have made 2 invoices a week in the past, I cannot make 20 invoices a day?? Does it mean that if I have handled Accpac, MYOB, Quickbooks, AS400, SAP, I still cannot operate Simply accounting? Can't an average common sensed professional change to suit the new work he has been provided?

It is indeed unfortunate that some employers insist on some obscure experience. I know this might seem quite hollow to you since you’ve been at this for some time now, but one has to persist. Did you put the same argument to the interviewer, saying that if you oversaw the preparation of invoices in the past, you could very well prepare them as well.

Its really up to an applicant to convince a prospective employer that they are the right fit for the job!

While I totally appreciate that these circumstances are unfortunate, its also very unfair to see statements like the following:

“Canada has ONLY labour jobs”
“80% of professionals in Canada work at Tim Horton’s”
“70% of jobs are labour jobs”
“Below average desis who have nowhere to go in India, end up coming to Canada”

I draw attention to BL’s comments again. Remember that there are a lot of new immigrants and prospective immigrants reading this site, don’t generalize and don’t put in unsubstantiated statistics (70%, 80%, ALL, etc).

i know one guy who was an accountant in gulf earning 3000 Canadian dollars who came to Toronto after resigning .

He applied to 200 jobs in one month , did not get a single call so he packed up and left for India to Bangalore.

He joined a leading clothes shop as accountant then later has started his own BPO business.

The situation of Bombayh and Canada are similar.

Bombay is so crowded, polluted, dirty, no proper houses to stay. but insspite of that so many people pour into Bombay everyday and once they come here they stay forever inspite of all the difficulty.

I guess similar situation must be promting thousands of desis to pour into Canada and stay on inspite of difficulties.

workopolis is one website probably Canada is dependent on. It has loads of agency adds, be it professional job or casual jobs. If four agencies are advertising the same job, can we say there are 4 vacancy or just one? Very few comapanies are advertised which are genuine requirenments. I feel it is better to get your profile on government job sites.
