Hi All,

I am Nabendu from India have a planning to move to Canada with family on the basis of PR visa. I have 9+ years of experience in Software industry working with a renowned IT giant having past experience with one of the big 4 audit firms.

I am currently collecting information regarding Canada immigration and scope of IT professionals.

Anyone from the same field or other who can throw some light on the topic would be highly appreciated.

Too much stuff available over net .. and you can spend ages to read and evaluate.

If your heart says to get out of the country and move to canada .... then just do it. Welcome to canada. Apart from loving snow and cold weather close to six months of an year (exception if you like to move to BC), have very good funds at least to survive one year, strong determination to succeed, preparedness to go through very tough situation for few years (financially, physically, socially and psychologically).

Then you will be a HAPPY CANADIAN after few years.

BC overall gets quite a lot of snow, and at par with the rest of Canada. However, it's the Lower Mainland Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island (Victoria) that is mild at best with an average of 2-3 days of snow in Winters. That too is washed away when it rains the next day. So, make sure you move to Vancouver and not someplace in Kelowna, Prince George, or up North.

Hi Fido,

Thanks for your post. I have expertise in web based application built on asp.net, mvc and back end - sql server 2008 , 2012 in various domain like insurance, admin etc. My current role is technical lead.

Welcome to Canada.
Canada is one of the best places for IT (though not as good as it was in the previous years) and hence you will love it.
ALso your transition to to good paying jobs will some in just weeks after you land in Canada.

Can you tell me what should be the process like first I need to get visa and then searching for job or vice-versa. Also it would be good if someone can post some sample IT company names and what should be the average monthly package for me (9 yrs exp)!!
