Points taken!
Overwhelmed with the responses! Thanks all
TK is making 12 Lac/year in India & is having a very good life in India
.. so 1 Lac/month.
1 lac/month is $ 2,000/month.
If you make $ 2,000/month in Canada you will have a very bad life..LOL..you will just about survive..ha ha.
TK goes to work 6 days a week in India Mon - Sat .
But everday even if he is in the office for 8-9 hrs, due to the Indian work culture, he only works 1-2 hrs a day. Rest of the time when he is in the office, he is surfing the web . Posting on Canadian Desi . Watching the stock market, buying selling stocks. Everyone in his office pretty much does the same thing . So lot of free & relaxed time for him.
He is living the good life in India. No stress , No pressure & he also has maids/servants who cook, clean for him as domestic labour is very cheap in India...very big advantage.
So DON'T forget if you come to CANADA , you are the cook , you are the maid , you are the driver, you are the nanny, you are the servant in the house. You have to clean the house , wash your clothes, you have to clean the toilet, you have to cook etc all by yourself.
So if you are used to maids, servants, peons , Chaprasi, Kamwali bai , Nannies etc to do your cooking, cleaning & household chores for you , look after your kids then DON'T come here. There is DIGNITY OF LABOUR over here , due to which domestic help is ridiculously expensive
..you are doing all these thing on your own.
She is in IT but on the process side. She is a BBA. She has not mentioned any technology or technical certifications, so I am assuming she is on the process side of things, gathering requirements, may be similar to something like a Process Analyst.
I second Raj.
Canada is very good for developers / programmers /PM and to an extent business analysts. Other people will have some trouble (as a Non IT person who has listened to many IT stories in Canada).
This one really took the cake. This was an employee at RIM during the boom of RIM in 2006. She was a class 12 pass in India and had been working in developing forms. In RIM she got a job as a form developer in some SAP package. 90K salary. I know that the market is not like that and hence as Raj says, research is very very important.
However ,if you are a developer and a programmer, just close your eyes and enter into Canada. You will have oppertunities. Any other specific skill, you will have to do a lot of research. It is just not easy as it is in India.

I have done ITIL certifications and working as a change specialist....this is into service management
I am not a coordinator
all the change happening to IT infrastructure has to be approved authorized by change management..

Fido.
In TO, I have not seen many desi's in process/change management in IT.

yes. I will second that.
There is no need to be too exited to move to Canada or Australia. Once you pass the points, they will surely give you the visa. It will take time. 6 months or 1 year or 2 years. So you should just let go of all the tension and concentrate on your job. That is what I did. I applied and went to Saudi . In Saudi, I was almost a prisoner. My passport was confisticated and I was not allowed to leave the country. So I forgot about Canada. My employer let me visit india after 31 months and I never came back.
A week after I came to India, I got my interview and medical 2 weeks after that. I was so exited. I packed up my bags and never looked for a job. But my visa came after 11 months. I was even worried if my visa would come as I knew that my medicals will expire in 12 months. I was worried as to what my relatives would say? Would they not say that this fool said that he is going to Canada soon but even after 11 months he had not gone. I lost my employment salary for 11 months and I did nothing in those 11 months except to watch TV and browse on the internet about Canada (2001/02).
So let that not happen to you. Donot worry too much about the visa (it will surely come) but then be prepared of how you will leave the country (your belongings/ your house / your plots etc..)

Canada is NOT bad for IT. There is a shortage over here.
