Do you believe this story? How can a girl so prominent and enlightened not know that her fiancée is of a different religion?
Did she ever visit his house? Did she meet his parents, siblings and relatives? Is it a part of Love Jihad plot?
I am surprised that a person can hide his religious identity, marry a girl and the other side does not know about it.
It seems to be an after-thought.
Not sure whether this is true in this case , but I recall a similar strategy being disclosed to me in 06-07 by a friend who had come from Cambridge , England .... under which you date with a different name and reveal your correct identity when you know the other person is too far in the relationship to retreat.

Do you know something funny? It's not restricted to one religion only. I had a few guys in my college, all Hindus (hate to mention it, but the topic is such). They used to disguise with the different names when 'Patao' a girl. This all happened in front of my eyes; and I personally knew them. I didn't know back then it is known as 'Love whatever'. I don't know if they revealed their true identity after the girls were fully 'Patao'ed'.
Would've been better if this whole incidence were treated as a crime instead of giving it a religious angle. But then, if we have BJP in the forefront of affairs, you don't expect much and something different. Not quite surprising.
This Guy is a villain to one religion but hero to another. God must be confused today !
On another note. Why should this be a crime even? As long as the couple are adults and got into the relationship on their own terms, they should be free to continue or split up in future given the circumstances. If the girl or a boy feels they were compromised or defrauded/lured, they should be free to contact the appropriate authorities.
But, hey! Everyone knows it doesn't work in India like this. We are not that mature yet. We need to ensure dragging the religion into everything and make the life hell for everybody. Then, there's Media that needs to fill in their space of 24 hrs TV.

Not sure I understand. Someone defrauded someone else and married them under a fake identity. After the marriage, they tried to force a religious conversion through physical abuse and harassment. This is not a crime and media should not report this?
