Dear Mr Diogenes,
Thank you for your comments- I shall forward them to The Toronto Star from where the article is printed.
Should anyone of you wish to read the columns printed in The Star or other publications and comment on them on this forum- I can ensure they will be forwarded to the respective periodicals. What action is taken I cannot guarantee.
If enough of you rip them apart, perhaps the columnists would stick to more resposible reporting.
I am sure you can find plenty more incongruities in the article. I definitely can.
My object is to just post articles on the forum be it in favor or against Canada and the immigrants and let you guys decide. On another thread I have posted that the top honcho of Rogers Wireless is a first generation immigrant just to illustrate the old and as they say here "cheesy" proverb- "where there's a will there's a way".
Bonne nuit.

I think what DtC says is quite positive . Not all lose in Canada !! And ur chances increase on all the abovementioned points by DtC.

As far as possible keep a back up plan and limit your stuggle 2 a time period --- dont let that be indefinite .

Manasvi .

Thanks for all the advises but one important question was left unanswered.
Given that i want to remain in technical field which 2 year PG course will be good for me from job as well as career interest perspective.

Thanks,
Chittesh

Hey....
Sorry if i am replying to this mail little late...
actually i opened this site after around one month and i was just reading some posts. I think i should reply on this mail....
All the factors which you outlined in the mail applied to me also when i was india. I came to canada around 6-7 months back only.

Chitresh, i would strongly recommend you to come here and try your luck. It is not that bad. I also started applying jobs when i was india and gave address of someone in Toronto. I GOT RESPONSES...and finnaly a job ( GOOD paying job)....

And one thing i would say to all the IT guys in INdia is - In Canada, the companies looks at the whole profile. Let me put in another words..... In india no matter in which field you did graduation, you just need to do some small course, take some experience and you can end up having a good job in IT ( as high as Rs 60K per month). But it doesnt work that easily in Canada. the companies looks at the whole profile, ur EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE. That is the reason many of the Indian IT guys are not able to secure good jobs. I may not be fully true but it is one of the reasons.....

anyways, my last words to you, DO ATLEAST TRY ONCE.... this may be a golden opportunity for you and ur future family.

-sunny

Look at the Full profile : Cant that be tailored, I know mostly every one tune their resumes to match the job profile..Whats the big deal in that

The real reason is shortage of Jobs and availabiility of more candidates is soemthing which gives employers more opportunity to look at the profiles and dig deep

Chittesh,

have you heard of the saying "its better to have loved and lost ..than never to have loved at all".

So if you dont come , you might end up with that uncomfortable feeling that comes with not trying.

So comon over yarrrrr!:)
