A new bi-monthly glossy is being launched by The Star pretty soon called Desi Life.
Did anyone read the write-up on International Marriage in last Saturday's Star? About Shree Paradkar of Pune and Bryan of Canada? Well, Shree is to be the editor of that glossy. Bryan works for Infy.

Since a year or so now The Star has upped its coverage on South Asian life in TO, headed by Priti Yelaja.
Looks like they are really going for it.
I think the article will strike a chord in more with more than one person on this forum. I guess, there was a time I would identify with it too.
It'll be interesting to see the progression of the writers viewpoints in time.
Thanks for the link and heads up.

Interesting...someone has put into proper wordings.....It truly reflects a feeling (of confusion & hope at the same time??) of a new arrival in the country, how they have burnt (if not burnt, folded back) the bridges back home, hopes, dreams, shocks (culture as well as human relations)..this is not a new story, this happens to each and every one who takes courage to leave their country to start a new life, adapt to everything come across life..regardless of your own background, and it's not also surprising it will the same even if it had to do with the same culture or even cast!!! in my opinion, it's a human instict, struggle adapting new humans into your own net - both ways, any comments????
