A correction is in place, I dont have my PR card, i havent landed yet, but i ave my VISA stamped which expires on Nov 10.

The problem with my company is that they outsource most of IT specially in India and there.

monster has atleast 20-25 new jobs every weeks that either matches my profile or it is what i was doing last year, workopolis more than 50 jobs every week... How does this compare to other job sectors? Unless there is large scale discrimination i should be able to land atleast 1 of these jobs what does everyone think on my point?
I think the worst case job for me should be Level 1 or Level 2 technical helpdesk, which i dont think should be tough, what does everyone think?

Regarding studying in Canada, this is a good option, although i am a project manager here i do a lot of technical work and i want to remain a techie all my life, what kind of courses do you think will help me secure my job here...

Thanks for all your valuable opinion...

Hi Chittesh,

The problems mentioned by you in India are correct.
However, if you do not get a Job out here in your related field all such problems will look OK. Chalega.

What we think in India and what happens when we land here is all different story. All your planning and your thinking process stops. You will feel what to do now..? GO back or try harder..

If you get a good break you are lucky.. else here it is like sinking sand, the more you try to stay here the more you sink in.

Also, the India is now growing faster than ever. The politician cannot back track from their reform agenda as far as IT is concerned. That is their main source of foreign currency and generating jobs for people.
Think of India like japan of automodiles of 1980's. and see their automobile industry now. The IT industry in india is in the same league and is still considered Tip of an iceberg. ( Just .1% of global IT mkt)

So keep your option open before landing here and be bold enough to say to yourself and everybody that even if you land here you are bold enough to go back. People really do big mistake here, that once they land here they feel it is not a good decision to go back and then they sink in here.

I agree, i am living through all these issues right now and say CHALTHA hai. please dont compare IT and Automobile industry. They are different sectors altogether. Also lets not compare India with Japan. They were behind India in development after Nuclear bombs fell on their cities.

The progress and development happening in India is only for the rich.
It dosent matter how much big the economy is and how fast it grows (countries like spain and Italy dont grow at a scorching pace and neither they have a flaghship service/product (Japan for cars, IT for india) but still their people live a much better life. Take the example of Malaysia, it has come up from nowhere and is a much better place to live in.

Everyone knows George Bush is a crook (he invaded iraq to secure contracts and oilfields for the compaies that he has vested interest in) but atleast he helped secure America's energy need to some extent.

He is anyday better than our Rail minister (lalu) and coal minister (soren) who passes executive orders to release murderers out of jail just to win elections

It is just that these things do not affect us in our normal lives and we say CHALTA HAI and things go on... but when the situation arises when u need to use the system ( i have had to do it several times) like when u have to go to the police station or u go to the courts its when u feel more frustrated.
Last week i went to a rstaurant where parking was full. So i drove a little ahead and parked next to a shop. The shopkeeper aked for 2o bucks parking. I said HUH. Are u muncipal corpooration, why ru charing parking, will u give me a receipt.
He said u ahve to pay 20 bucks or he will make sure my bike is screwed when i come back. I saw a traffic constable who was standing 100 meters from that place, i told him the whole story and he said he cannot do anything.
It was very clear that he was also getting a cut in this.
This was a very small incident and 20 bucks was not a big deal but when something really big happens like when u find out the house that the builder built for u is on illegal land and u have to say so mich saabs and give so much money that u think of why itss happening to you...
I think if you want to staay in India you shoould either be a politican or with so much money that you can buy everyone in the system with impunity.
ELSE if you are anyway middle class some other place where their vote counts is more desirable to live...
bottomline use public transportation in Australia/US/UK/NZ/CAN rather than use it in India if you cannot afford a decent car in either countries.
And maybe thats the reason why so many people dont come back even when they are frustrated and do not have jobs in their own field..altleast they live a peaceful life...
anyway thats what i think sitting here in india. As usual..comments are wewlcome..

What i am going to do is try my best to get feelers of the job market before landing there.

Dear Chittesh,

I have given you my opinion and i do not want your advise. OK.....

I just wanted to share my experience with you. You are not able to read in between the lines. I had very clearly told you what you think there and what happens when u land here is 360 degree different.

Please do not give me any advise next time. Ok.. Thanks.

Why you call yourself confused when you are not ready to take our opinion and instead giving us advise. I thought your objective of this discussion forum was to take opinion rather than giving advise.

You are most welcome here and nobody in the world can stop you.

...................TO ALL FORUM MEMBERS..............

I REQUEST ALL FORUM GUYS THAT WHENEVER ANYBODY ASKS FOR OPINION WHEN THEY ARE IN INDIA, THEY ULTIMATELY START GIVING US ADVISES WITHOUT HAVING PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE. DONT' YOU THINK GUYS THAT IT HIGH TIME NOT TO ENTERTAIN SUCH DESI'S AND INSTEAD TELL THEM THAT ''GUY COME HERE AND TRY IT OUT YOURSELF"

I HAVE READ ENOUGH OF SUCH PEOPLE WHO GIVE ADVISE. THERE IS NO POINT IN GIVING OUR OPINION TO SUCH PEOPLE WHO ARE WHO JUST HAVE ONE WAY COMMUNICATION AND WHO ARE NOT GOOD RECEPTOR.

ALL DESI'S I THINK THERE IS NO POINT IN GIVING YOUR OPINION TO THIS GUY.I HOPE NO BODY REPLIES BACK TO THIS CONFUSED MAN FURTHER AS THER IS NO POINT IN GIVING OUR OPINION.

THANKS
