What about your sons? What is this about daughters only.

You obsess about it too much. Its unhealthy. You cannot control it. Whatever your idea about conservatism in India. All data says otherwise. It sounds like you have never been part of the upper class society in India that you aspire to in your musing about living as part of those communities.

You can of course lock away your kid in some remote area and throw away the keys until such time as you see fit.

These are your thoughts and you know what - I care half a cent about that .

Thanks for your advice but let me assure you its not needed.(though un invited of course)-- You can reserve it for your own good self . I think you are far more obsessive and thats why I avoid replying to your posts.

Glad to know the feeling is mutual. Although its half a cent more than I'd give for your melodramatic pseudo intellectualism littering the forum. So you can continue avoiding replying it makes no difference except to yourself.

I am not the one who brings up daughters bfs and basing lifes decisions on adult childrens sexual activities (imagined, projected and obsessed upon) in each and every post.

Its clearly an obsession...just look at your posts, I'm not the only one who has noticed.

The way this thread took shape reminds me of the Nana Patekar dialogue "Saala Ek Machar, Admi ko Hijra banadeta hai"

The whole thread started as an objective discussion, then some innocent person started a 'hate canadian immigrants' line with even personal attacks... when the hollows in his/her/whatever line is exposed, he managed to turn it into a way people started highlighting the most negative aspects in India. What I see among almost all desi's here is, no one talks or wants to talk bad about India, though we all are well aware of the issues and the root causes. We accept the realities, made a choice and move on. Here is a hypocrite, doing exactly what every other one here is doing, and talks as if others are changing mother. So what is he? A Jamai Raja?

It's okay to compare the lifestyle or facitilies or whatever. One need to do it objectively. Comparing the most positive elite 1% of India to the most negative 1% in Canada and saying 'you guys suck' is just plain stupid and only highlights their EQ and IQ.

May be this is another practical example of the issues with the system in India - any idiot with even zero commonsense can become an electrical engineer is less years than any normal person. India has its positives and negatives... So is Canada. It's a totally personal choice what positives one chooses to have and what negatives one is ready to put up with. If any one has issues accepting that, suck it up and deal with it!

As for people coming here because it is more competitive in India - majority of people here are in skilled worker class - not investor class. We didn't get the visa showing money, but got it based on skills. If you know the process, you will know that, to get in, one needs a min. no of points. Either a Masters degree or min 4 yrs experience and exceptional English are required to make up points - which also means we all had job in India or elsewhere for atleast 4 years. So, it is not the case of some one not getting job in India migrating here. Guess you are confused with the worker class going to Gulf or the ones like you who get in because when you licked far up north, the boss showed money to get you a investor class visa.

How do we explain to 'Nadaan Dil' that we love our Motherland but we have taken 'Vidaaee' from her with a promise to return to her every once a while and never to forget her.(quite filmy eh!)
Do you mean that since we have moved here we have lost all rights to point out negativities of our homeland!!!!!!!!
We don't have to prove ourselves to anyone be it our status here or be it our patriotism!!! I can say for myself that I spent my life in Delhi and was at stone throw distance from major Temples -Hanuman Mandir C.P and Gurudwara BanglaSahib & Rakab Ganj and visited them just may be once a month or less but after coming to Canada I go to my nearby temple and gurudwara almost every next weekend.i have seen more India here than i saw in India.I love going to my friend's places when they have some function and all gettogether to make sweets for wedding etc and sing songs!
I sometimes remember my granny who ( If she read this post!) would have said " chaddo ji, mitti pao, Dafa karo Bas vi karo hun...Lassi na ridko"
Also kabir once said
"nindak nede raakhiye,
aangan kuti banaye
bin sabun paani bina
nirmal kare subhaye"

good to know that you didn't paid for your immigration to human trafficking agent or didn't came here by boat or false marriage. can you tell people which tim horton you are working as skilled labor.

I didn't knew that you really need any skill to come to "KaneDDA".
did you pronounced chicAAAAAAAAAAgo to get canadian visa in embassy with your exceptional English.but I think you can speak in punjabi also in embassy. In flight I am very use to to fill their custom form before landing in India or leaving India though they have canadian passport but can not fill the custom form which has to fill in english when I ask aunty/uncle profession column me kya likhu then common answer is- laddo banati hoon beta, machine operator/tool operator, chapati banati hoon.

when you ask them in flight uncle aap indian ho they will reply "Assi Kenedian" stil can't fill their custom form with enough electricity inside the flight.
i really don't understand why they go to India which is land of mosquito(strong enough to bite Kanedian A$$:D, can cause malaria) and if people live like animal there with no electricity and water.

if you are really having any of the skill you mentioned , you will never take "Kanedian sitizenship" or never be in kaneda for more then year or two.

last week i took the cabbie from airport and the driver was crying his kids say India is so dirty, I thought about you guys and said nevermind.

If we can read you...then the protocol suggest that you should reciprocate and read the jist of the words instead of waving Banaye or chawaye or chabay. If i had read last two words I would have never understood the doha!!!!!

Also may I have the audacity to suggest that Please do not fill out forms or help any desi people if you only have to make fun of them.
Don't we have illetrates in India who move from states like BIHAR,MP etc to major metros in search of jobs and then take help of educated ones for various things like filling up ration card form and so many more things.

Do we make fun of them or shoo them away or try to speak in their accent to make them understand things and makethem feel a part of the community!!!

Well thats how I and people around me and I am sure most of my Kanedian friends see it!
