I wonder how much insulated from this environment can we raise our kids in - something which we value in our parents and the society we were brought up in .

It is true that very few immigrants got success and most of the people ended up doing odd jobs. This happens not only with people with Indian experience, but people with US experience also suffer due to Canadian employer’s attitude.
I hv seen here some people arguing that this is basically because of poor communication skills of Immigrants (Say Indians). But if it is true, then why same guy is getting Job in USA?
No point in wasting our time doing odd jobs and better to say good bye to Canada
Read the excellent story(short) regarding same topic by
Dr. Anil Prabha Kumar a professor at William Paterson College in New Jersey
here is the link(for story)

this line really touched me
"हर चीज़ की कीमत होती है, अमरीका आने की à¤à¥€ à¤?क कीमत है''
-(Har chiz ki Ek kimat hoti hai, America aane ki bhi ek kimat hai)
that expalins other side of story even if your kids became Doc/Engineer or so called sucessful but at what cost.
Edit :-
another touching line
उमर सिककों में तो नहीं मिलती, पता ही नहीं चला कि कया पाने के लि कया और कितना दे दिया?
-(umra Sikko me to nahi milti, pata hi nahi chala ki kya paane ke liye Kya aur Kitana de diya ?)
PS: sorry if you can't see hindi font(check your browser setting, change it to "Unicode", View->text Encoding->unicode UTF8) that's why I also wrote the same by using english alphabet.
