on the contrary.

I'm still waiting for people who are complaining about excessive racism in Canada to narrate their personal experiences and tell us what, if anything, they did to fight back.
What do you think as an individual ( who landed in this country few days or few years before) one can fight the racism alone. Secondly, if you have to choose between fight against racism and survival... any individual will go for survival, isn't it?
Thanks and regards.

Are you there?
No BL, It is not the question of believing in Toronto Star or any other news paper. If you check this thread I referred quite a few other sites as well. Beyond any doubt racism does exist in this country. And everyone did accept it at some point of time in this thread. I did not say that racism do not exist in other countries but as I live in Canada and this is my home so I am more concerned about racism in this country.
Now this thread is on its 13th page and viewed 2724 time so far with 126 posts in it. I did not start this thread to prove the fact that there is racism in Canada I just wanted to increase awareness among desis
Now may I request fellow desis to throw some suggestion, ideas or comments to eliminate this cancer from our society.
Thanks and regards.

Thanks for understanding, Bio. I knew you'd get my point.
In any case, let's wait for some useful feedback now.

Atleast the Canadians are decent enough to officialy label immigrants as "Permanent Residents". In the US, migrants have to bear the ridiculous and humiliating title of "Aliens" untill they become US Citizens. Even the so called 'Green Card' is officialy known as the "Resident Alien Card"
DT
Maybe this can be used as an example of difference in attitude towards Immigrants, between the two countries.
I'd really be interested in hearing comments from those members that keep touting the US to be a better place than Canada.

Dedicated to all us Desis who wonder why we migrated from India:
**************************************************
Everyone says
the grass is greener on the other side.
For the first time,
I think they're right.
The other side looks so much greener,
while my life is dull.
Brown, thirsted grass,
just like my life,
thirsty for something.
Am I
on the wrong side of the fence?
Should I be in the green fields,
not rotting here anymore?
The green grass is so beautiful,
not like me.
A broken family,
stuck between two worlds.
Why is the grass always greener on the other side?
I thirst for adventure,
to have something in my life.
Not be left alone all the time,
to sit and wonder,
wonder why my life is like this.
I need someone in my life,
not just me.
I need that green grass.
Some say your own life is better,
that the life you want,
has its own problems too.
But where I stand,
the grass looks so much greener,
on the other side.
Thx
DT
