Hi guys,
Wanted to know if there is anyplace ( website or shop), where I can get all the episodes of DD Old serial "Yeh jo hai Zindagi"..
Would really appreciate any info on this.
Summer
Summer ...ha ha ha ha... Neki aur Pooch Pooch... Unfortunately there is none that I am aware of.
Yu can say YJHZ was India's first and probably memorable "Sitcom"...
The best way to find out would be to e-mail Kundan Shah (the director of that show)

Yes, I too would like to know if I can get copies somewhere of "Yeh jo hai zindagi" . That was a reeeeal hilarious comedy - poorey tees saal ka experience hai...
And Karamchand with that "Lily don't be silly"...LOL

wisernow
& Tiku Talsania...
Rajeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, yeh kya ho raha hai !!!!!!!!!!!
I still remember that episode where they fooled around with the sofa-cum-bed !
If I am not mistaken the protagonists were :-
(Late) Shafi Inamdaar - Ranjeet
Swaroop Sampat - Renu
Rakesh Bedi - Raja
Nivedita Joshi - ?? (Raja's wife)
Tiku Talsania - ?? (Raja's sasur)
Sulbha Arya - Mrs Bhattacharya
Vijay Kashyap - Mr Bhattacharya !
Karamchand was a class by itself. The opening song/sequence (cross-reflection mirrored sequence) was amazing. Coming at Friday night's .. It sure did give us some chills
...
It also lay the groundwork for Anand-Milind (Lal dupatta mal mal ka) & Pankaj Parashar (Chaalbaaz)

All right folks, since this thread has been revived I guess my apetite has increased
The last good series to come out of the DD Sunday morning stables..
"Chandrakanta, Ki Kahani
Yeh Maana Hai Purai,
Yeh PUrani hokar bhi,
Badi lagti, hai suhani,
Naugarh, Vijaygarh mein thi Taqraar..." (Sonu Nigam's voice)...The only memorable sound bite from that serail was "Yakkuuu
"
I was browsing through the other posts in this thread. Someone mentioned Star Trek and Sherlock Holmes (the first season)... Truly amazing series (considering I saw them in B&W and now see them in color)
BUt before Star Trek began (@ 10:00 am), there was a cartoon show for 15 mins. "Jamie and the Magic Torch"...his dog's name was Wordsworth..does anyone remember that ?
I made a mention of Chunauti. I wonder if anyone followed that series..
Channa Ruprel and Arif Zakaria (with she being jealous of Suchitra Krishnamurty a.k.a Mrs. Shekhar Kapur).. This serail also marked the debut of Rajeev Verma (Salman Khan's dad in Maine Pyar Kiya) and late. Ajit Vacchani (as the Villain in MPK)
Sunday morning's also had a series *ing Bhagyashree Patwardhan ( Suman from Maine Pyar Kiya).. ...Kacchi Dhoop ? I think it had some relation with Amol, Palekar
& the last series in which Hemant KUmar composed da Music
"Talaash".. (Farooque Sheikh and MOusumi Chatterjee) The title song was hummed by Suresh Wadkar and it was a take of Hemant Kumar's original song
Original :- Tum PUkaar lo, Tumhara intezaar hai
This one :- Jeevan ek pyaas hai, Sabhi ko Talaash hai

Many of the family drama, comedy, epic stories, fictions, they all were good. But I consider the most difficult thing in this world is to make others laugh. Hence the best were:
Yeh Jo He Zindgi
Wagle Ki Duniya &
my favourite,
MALGUDI DAYS
Unfortunatley, Jaisi Jaisi Koi Nahi is a crap with capital "C". There are no quality comedy serial nowadays on Indian TV Channels. I do not know if there is some on DD.
Hey Ottawa Nerd, the thread was good man !!!!!
