Gyan Shivpuri (as the villain Hetram),
Sadia Siddiqui (Sharukh Khan's sister in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa)..as Angoori...
It is basically set in a rural environment...and this serial won an Emmy award also !

I still remember the dashing Naseeruddin shah as Mirza Ghalib, the great melodious scores of Jagjit singh and revering direction of Gulzar. Infact i used to record the serial title songs in my cassette recorder. I rocorded Jagjits voice in all the title scores of panchtantra, Intezar(remember Bhookhe ko roti ka, bekaar to rozi ka,lootere to mauke ka, Intezar hai sung superbly by Jagjit singh) , Hello Zindagi presented by Nalini singh had a nice titlr track, reallly loved that.

My fav of all the 80's DD serials was Nukkad, yeh jo hain zindagi...and ek do teen char....nukkad was particularly a must see......khopdi was absolutely hilarious......
