I wish to go through all the pages of this post, compile the favorite serials and post a thread for future reference.. May be when some of us get a chance to get together, we will look to get these cassettes/DVD, Play and chew back the Golden days.
Hell with Ekta Kapoor's, All Millionaire attired serials.. No reality.. Crippled mind..

Thanks ON
This is really a "touching" thread!
A few of the serials which i followed were
- Yeh jo hai zindagi
- Vikram Betal (Tu bola aur me chalaa....ohhhhhahaaaaaaaaaaa!!)
- Karam Chand (Sir, You are a genius.....Shut up Kitty)
- Byomkesh Bakshi (Bengali detective)
- Barrister Vinod
- Udaan (Kalyani, a poor girl who becomes an IPS officer)
Even earlier, when we were in school, i remember sitting in front of the telly, watching two small eggplants going round and round - to form the Doordarshan logo
Do you guys remember, seeing a cardboard with the familiar words "Sorry for the interruption" "Rukawat ke liye khed hai"
Mahabharat ofcourse left the streets looking as if there was a curfew on, as had been the case with Amitabh Bachan's Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Cheers
Does anybody recollect the serial which introduced Neelima Azim? It used to air on Sunday mornings on DD.
It was the first ever love story to be depicted in serial form. The guy was same guy who played badki's husband in Humlog (Ashwini). The girls name was Padma. Neelima Azim played supporting role along with a guy called Rajesh Khattar.
It was written directed by Lekh Tandon. It had a hummable title song. Cannot recollect exact words but
"Kahin Raaston Ki Daagar Mile
Kahin Mushkilon Ka Safar Mile
....
Yeh Talaash Hai Meri Raah Ki
Mujhe Manzilon Ki Talaash Hai"
I forgot the name of the serial air Damn!!!!!
