But yes, you might be right. There might be some people Canada actually entertains....like the pizza shop owner in Judy Sgro's case, canada 'entertained' him for eighteen years before kicking him out.....you are not being 'entertained' in the same way. Are you?.....just wondering......![]()
No, but it was certainly a hoot reading how you got a ticket for not buckling up in the back seat.![]()
yeah, it sure was. But atleast I got to tell the officer that he was a moron, right on his face. So basically it wasn't a bad deal for $120.
And you know what else is hilarious, the effort you make out of frustration to co relate two things that are not even related..just for the sake of replying to my post......![]()

Political rallies and Bharat bundh.. is free speech.. nothing wrong with it..
Any political movement that infringes on the fundamental rights of citizens, is NOT "free speech"!!
The bundhs in India are called by political parties with no other purpose in mind than to terrorize the government. The citizens are forced to participate, for fear of jeapordizing themselves if they didn't.
Any activity that harms the nations economy in any way, whether here or in India, should be made illegal and banned!
Free speech - bollocks!
I like Banff & Columbia Icefields.
Definitely among the most beautiful places I have seen.
Thanks & regards.
Rajan.

Let's make India a better place !
After having lived in the US, I would say, the stability of status and having your own SIN
(was on H4 in the US).

HOPE
5 yrs here still figuring out what I like.
every year after the schools reopen in Sept. Teachers go on strike. Come the tax season Revenue Canada employees go on strike. April or May garbage collectors go on strike and then the transit union and then the nurses.
All of these ppl. each year want raises and they get them. Used to think India was bad, this place is 10 times worse. When the amount of students in a class increased, the teachers went on strike that with so many students we can't give proper attention to individual students. Well if they wouldn't be striking each yr, and worrying and wasting time thinking about it they'll find the time.
Nurses feel they are overworked. Doctors feel they are overworked. The only thing I see them doing is nothing. Was in emergency 8 mths back, the nurses are standing and talking about jewellary etc for more than 40 minutes. Go see ur family doctor (u'll be lucky if you can find one in the first place). He/she'll see a patient, disappear for 15 minutes (for maybe a tea and breadpakora break) and then look at the next one. If u have any major thing to be done (eg surgeries, MRI etc), better to beg around collect some money and go across the border, or better go to India and get it done. Atleast it'll be done on time.
Comes the elections time. Morning till night, the only thing u do is pickup the phone and talk to one of those idiots trying to get ur vote. (For phone telemarketers and elections marketing the phone companies should charge by the minutes. They'll make a bundle and also save us headaches).
Discrimination. Well that's another story.
Job situation for immigrants. Don't have to write more. Enough threads about the problems.
If you don't have ur own vehicle, going from one place to another or doing groceries etc. It's fun. Atleast in India, put all the stuff in a rickshaw and bring it home. Here, carry a bottle of milk, some veggies come back home, go again and bring the next pile. Buses are available, but they don't go down deep in residential areas. And if it's an emergency kind of situation, well ur stuck as the next bus comes after 45 minutes. No autorickshaw.
Air is more pure, but yup that'll help me when I am sick (fever 105.5) and sitting in emergency for 10.5 hrs before a doctor saw me. Kept on taking tylenol every 3 hrs just to get the shivers down.
All my money got wasted moving here and trying to find a job. If I could get my money back, I'll be the first person on the plane back to India.
I like the way everyone stands in line in grocery stores, bus waiting & banks & even Tim Hornton's & McDonald's.
I don't really care about cleanliness as we are the one who is paying taxes for all that stuff, see some of the apartment bulidings on Markham rd. & you will wonder if you are in Mumbai or Toronto.
Charles3, I've already posted this on one of the treads that I'm returning to India in May 2006, Just to let you know one of our friend lives in one these above mentioned apartments & you won't believe that 16 families returned back to India from Jan. 2005 - Aug. 2005.
Explorer I can totally believe ppl leaving back for India. Unfortunately , after all my money was finished (which I had when I moved from US) trying to find a job etc. I got into debts for further studies and just to exist. So till I pay them off and have a few dollars can't move back as don't have a house or support to go back and start all over again. But one day I will. that's something I am sure about.
Yup I love the lines too. And even more funny is trying to see these ppl. count cash. Damn does it take them time. I used to thk banks in India were slow. These out here in Canada are horrible. Stand in the line with only 10 ppl ahead of you and ur looking for minimum 40 minutes wait. Actually coming here I started understanding how fast our country (India) and Indians move and the volume they serve in a day.
