Sometime I feel that you assume too much!. I normally do not discuss my personal achievements or failures in the public forum as those are immaterial for the majority.
Thanks and regards.

I probably assumed it due to this thread a while ago where you said you were going back due to career issues
The whole thread is here
Again please let us know how you and your colleagues tackled the discrimination you faced. Thanks

Thanks a lot DK and Dr. Jani for your suggestions. DK there is nothing personal in this decision, Somehow I feel that in Canada ,being a brown colored immigrant you have limitations in your career growth. You will find too much racial discrimination in this country, which prevent you to achive your career goals. My personal e.mail is, feel free to write me if you have any question.
Dr. jani, yes you are right. I must think 100 time before I take any decision. If I will take any decision that would be well researched and well informd too.
Thanks again for your help and time.

Hi Jake
You may not feel discriminated in day to day life. But when it comes to promotion or salary the discrimination is very much visible in all the big organizations. These harsh realities have been accepted in various published reports including Stat Can reports. A colored immigrant gets around 40% less in comparison with his white counterpart. You won’t find many colored people in higher administrative positions too.
I am living in Canada since last 6 years and fortunately working with an American Global Giant (# 1 Global Company as per Forbes magazine), unfortunately this company is also not an exception when it comes to discrimination.
All of my peers and well qualified professional friends also feel in same way and because of this majority of them tend to get out of this country.
Regard

let us not defend the racism. the fact is 99.9% of the anglos hate u whether u admire them or hate them. they are born with this hatred against you. but u all as a group can make one heck of a difference. u do not have to go out with a gun to avenge anyone (gandhi did not and the world community heard him), but form a group to internationalize this behavior of the canadians (follow from south africa's example). UN is already aware of this canadian crime against professionals of minority group. US news/tv media in the seventies was criticizing canadian behavior against its minorities. But a very little has changed since.
canada still invites the professionals by uprooting them from the 3rd world countries with false promises and dumps them here in the cold. remember one thing, when u go to ME countries to work as professionals and stay there, u don't end up doing the menial jobs while holding ur degrees in one hand and broom in the other. in this reverse employment scenario, when a nordic goes to india to work as a professional, he works there as a professional.
I hear some arguments in this forum that there are lot of success stories, true but let us not forget that not everyone has the entrepreneurial skills to shine, especially the professionals. if a doctor who comes from india and cannot practice here what else could he do? he could not do any wonders with his meager funds he brought with, say invent a cure for aids. similarly an engineer could not make a cheaper spacecraft to go to "sun" and come back safely with $1000 savings from home in his pocket. in case of an engineer, he could only sell life insurance or probably work in a pit shop or as a guard.
I educated myself here and managed to work with some bigger companies, but only in the "absence" of a nordic boss. the moment some anglo became my boss, guess what......? personality conflict first then a kick in ars next (we desis don't believe in butt* kissing). on one incident i had to litigate the company and got some cash out of it.
the epitome is, don't just stand there and see it happen to ur compatriot, but go and help him. think of petitioning (united we stand). to all of u, the jews became so propersous in north america because of their unity. a jew will hire a jew first and then consider the majority group, you the minority still has to wait in the line. in reality, our abilities r much better than any group.
let us see what our desi folks learn from this?

As per Stat Can Immigrants are getting poor in this country
"In 2000, recent immigrants had a low-income rate of 35.0%, nearly twice the average rate for metropolitan areas overall. In 1980, in contrast, recent immigrants had a low-income rate of only 23.1%. This growth was substantial in all metropolitan areas with a large population of recent immigrants."
"In Toronto, the low-income rate in 2000 was 17.7%, up 1.8 percentage points from 1990. Among recent immigrants, however, the low-income rate rose by 4.6 points to 32.8% in 2000. In contrast, the low-income rate among all other individuals was virtually unchanged in Toronto."

Yeah Jake, I do standby my statement..... and still I would say I am not a victim of racism yet. In future if I feel racism or discrimination is holding my career growth I would be the first one to leave this country.
Whatever I have written in this quoted post I have seen that happening with quite a few people.
I hope it will clear your doubt !
Thanks and regards.

We have totally forgotten our kids and instead are arguing about us adults and discrimination in our lives and jobs. Racial discrimination does exist in school as well.
This sad reality is indelibly written on to the daily agenda of every immigrant systematically subjected to an education"based on the knowledge, the culture and the values of White and mainly urban middle class". An immigrant student is thus exposed to clearly discriminatory educational practices which, like"a multitude of tireless voices tell him loudly and softly that he is intellectually, emotionally, physically and morally inferior'. We must first recognize the existence of racism. Limiting ourselves to expressions of compassion for the victims of racism without taking a stand or making a commitment to stem it is tantamount to skirting the problem. Limiting ourselves to feeling sorry for the victims of racism without denouncing it and seeking ways to eliminate it, is tantamount to dodging the issue. Pretending to be colorblind in the face of the hardships encountered by young immigrant youngsters and professing not to perceive any difference in treatment, is still tantamount to sidestepping the problem. The word "immigrant" refers to certain individuals relegated to the bottom rung of our social scale. An "immigrant" is different and his difference is a stamp of inferiority.
Sometimes the path is not withdrawn. Sometimes you have to make the path.
How can we fight racism?
Recognize and treat the problem ...................
Racism does exist in our society and, it follows in our schools as well. Let us stop looking for explanations that justify isolated, deviations of individual behavior.
See and spell out racism in its true-to-life forms ...................
Let us not skirt the issue of racism by utilizing an incorrect vocabulary, by trying to reduce it to a problem of being"socio-economically deprived" or by minimizing it in placing racial discrimination on the same footing as discrimination based on language, religion cultural etc.
Guarantee an active and sustained participation of the victims at important decision-making levels..................
Time and time again Native, Asian and Black Communities complain that consultations and studies are carried out, committees are set up, seminars are held, and spokesmen are named, without any involvement, direct or indirect, on their part and even when their own interests are at stake. They wonder how policies that truly take their needs into account can be formulated?
Be rigorously consistent.....................................
We must be consistent. The adoption of an anti-racist policy implies putting in place a mechanism that will include rules and guidelines. We should try to be one-up.
Wake up and be aware...................
It is a matter of determining the degree of personal and institutional participation which contributes to reinforcing racism. A critical assessment of attitude, behavior and institutional practices, both individual and collective, is essential.
Speak out and you'll be heard.
