Canada is known as a mosaic with lots of immigrants.
Everybody may not agree with each others beliefs, and racism will never ever disappear. But I believe that in our generation, the problem of racism has slowly decreased because learning builds on understanding. In society now, racism discrimination is inappropriate and unacceptable, children are taught in school and by their parents now. Even though the problem arises often today.
But depending on the person that you are yourself, you may have a different viewpoint, for example if a person was racist or not.
I think right now, we are a multi- cultural nation. The immigrant community as a matter of fact is strong now because we have combined our ways of living. Learning from other cultures builds understanding. Every different ethnic group has different ethnic beliefs and traditions.
And although acceptance may be out of the question in some cases, people are able to put aside their differences to unite with each other.
Acceptance comes from understanding, and understanding comes from education. If people give themselves and others a chance, this world would be a better place obviously. But many people are not as open, many people are very protective of themselves and their family, and thats understandable, but what they need to realize is that every man is created equal (in my opinion), and what you make of yourself, is what you will become. Every single person in our society has the right to their own thoughts, damaging or not, these thoughts are floating around in society now, and we can't abolish someones thoughts, so all we can do is leave them be.
I believe that different cultures causes clashes and sometimes violence.
I have seen our Indian kids grow up and mature, therefore we must trust our beliefs and have absolutely no doubt in them.
The strategy now is to hire the best and white employers are slowly beginning to understand that an immigrant is a better worker. Not only they bring in their qualifications and expertise but are also sincere and hardworking.
Times are going to change and this is just the beginning of a new revolution.

I just want to dispute that Canada is a Multicultural nation. I would say some of the big cities are (in numbers at least)....Does some one have the % of population of native white Canadians...I think it is close to 90 %.....

Yeah you are right... I think total population of immigrants (modern time) is less than 4 or 5%. If you go beyond city limits of big cities you hardly will see any non white. I will try to get factual % of immigrants.
