Hey Dimple, Peacock1,

this is unrelated but just saw on VFS's website that they are no longer accepting applications for PIO at VFS and that PIO app's need to be submitted to CGI directly. On CGI's website, it states that all applications including PIO need to go to VFS.

So definitely their service is not up to par. Tried calling VFS - both numbers are constantly busy and CGI number as usual there is an automated message and then phone disconnects. Poor service levels from both organizations.

Hi Dimple,
Got a phone call from Consulate off today, they have issues with photographs of all of us (5) applicants,
Interivew at the consulate office, have to go with fresh new clear pictures .
Interview on Monday 29th of June

Thanks for the update. So, clearing VFS's scrutiny does not necessarily clear the consulate...hmmm. At least they called. Good to know.

Today I checked the consulate link instead of the VFS link to check out my OCI status. I now have an acknowledgement number stating my file is under process as of June 23rd.

VFS link still shows no sign of whether originals are ready for pickup or not.

For those who are still interested in OCI timeline progress, my status shows photo/signature scanned on July 10th 2009 after acknowledging on June 23rd.

VFS link still shows the consulate still has all our originals (they have had it since June 5th...terrible)

it's hard to comprehend why they need to retain originals for so long.
