Hi friends,
This is not to scare you but the way these guys at the VFS and the consulate replies to our querries for you all if you are planning to apply by July end, your OCI arrival in time before your departure is kind of iffy.

Going by their standard reply they say it takes anywhere between 8-12 weeks minimum before you expect your OCI card assuming you have sent all required docs and your "photograph" is kind of flawless.

Thanks for the update. I called VFS and discovered that my originals are at VFS, after all, all this time. They never bothered and still have not bothered to update the VFS tracking information.

My registration status is "Under process" per consulate OCI tracking info.

Also, VFS Toronto is apparently unable to decide whether or not they will be open sat, Aug 1 (due to civic holiday Aug 3) !!!!!! even though Aug 1 or 3 is not in the list of holidays posted by VFS/CGI. I wanted to know as I could pickup originals on saturday. Amazes me!!!

Hi,
VFS are working on monday as I am going there to drop my passports for stamping OCI - visa on it , I did call there and confirmed it today, so it is safe to assume they are working normal hours on saturday too.

They were open sat, Aug 1 after saying, until fri evening, that they were not going to be. Anyway, I have all our originals back.
