Hey Guys,
Thanks you all, the reason i wanted some help is not because I cannot fill the forms but because they said in the guide that if something is missing then they will send the application back. There a few questions which are a bit confusing.
Yellowknife:
One cannot really pass comments on the "quality" of immigrants by their ability to fill the forms. I really don't know how one defines "quality", it's a relative term. In today's world where one define's himself and those he/she knows by what they do, I am not surprised to see the above comment coming from a senior desi. There is more to life than filling forms....Give it a try.
Thanks
After going through the postings and my personal experience, I agree whole heartedly with Yelloknife (though there was no need for him to be angry / sarcastic about people not fiiling it in by themselves).
All the forms / Questions are pretty straight forward and there is no way that any lawyer / agent can fill it in unless you sit near them and answer the questions that he askes and then he types / prints it in.
And another thing is that if you are clever enough (by typing the query yourself ) to ask it in a public forum then you are clever enough to fill in all the details by yourself.
The reason why the senior desi got irritated was that he was seeing this questions time and time again and it became so bad that he had to express his feelings. A similar incident occured with another senior desi (Mr/Mrs. Sudesingh) a year back, though it was not related to filling up the forms issue.
Having said all this , I have no reason to redicule anyone who feels that they need a lawyer / immig. consultant to do that type of work. The reason why Yelloknife said that was b'cos you are losing $250 or so for 2 or 3 hours of work, which anyways you are going to spend the same time with the lawyer / consultant.

Well said TK !!
But I also agree with icecube, the spousal sponsorship process is a bit confusing. I recently went through the same process and should admit that it is a painful and tedious process. I am posting below the list of documents I submitted when I applied ( october 2006). Hope you can use this as a reference. Make sure to download the latest forms from CIC website and also to read the manual and FAQ's. I think filling forms become easier once you have identified all the required application forms.
Finally, its always your decision to go with a lawyer or to complete the application package yourself. Good Luck !!
There are two forums where you can post your questions if you are in doubt.... one is in CD under family class and the other one is immigration.ca.
Regards
Manoj

"The reason why the senior desi got irritated was that he was seeing this questions time and time again and it became so bad that he had to express his feelings."
I don't see anywhere when someone asked yellowknife's opinion regarding this question. What's the point getting mad?
Although his intentions were right I have no doubt about that but still.... even I felt bad when he commented on the quality of immigrants these days.
Now to Mr. Manoj... that's what I'll call genuine help.
BTW I hired a lawyer when I sponsored our parents for visitor VIsa (we, me an my husband, both were working that time ) but now I am a stay home mom in USA and I filled all the forms by myself for sponsoring them to USA.
again it depends upon situation. Sometimes $250 is worth for that time. And believe it takes much more time than 2-3 hours. I can from personal experience. It does take much... after reading the manual and finding the notary.. calling banks for statements... calling IRS /CCRA for copies... and what not.
You are a PR and worried about the huge amounts your immigration consultant demanding to sponsor your family? Don't worry at all! Here is a great info on a FREE Service to help you to sponsor your spouse, dependent children or parents... (but, regular immigration fees to Govt. apply while submitting application).
