People adjust in all kinds of salary......if it is $ 25 K or $ 50 k or $ 100 k..........

It depends on the life style you want.
For a Couple with 2 children (with wife not working), 60K is a comfortable min. salary . With both husband and wife working, you may want to earn atleast 80K.
Again it also depends on your education and the job that you were / are doing before coming to Canada.
For eg. if you are a clerk in a govt. office in India, you may find that you will be happy even lesser than the salaries that I ahve mentioned above. OTOH, if you are like a ENgineer who had 20 people working under you in India / Gulf, you bar may be much more above what I mentioned.
I hope that you are aware that a clerk and a CEO are measured in the same scale for immigration to Canada once your points are above the min. required for immigration. There is dignity of labour here and you will find that you will be treated in public places the same whether you are a CEO or a clerk (atleast externally).

Yes, it should not be a problem to live comfortably initially. If you search there are some threads on this web site listing monthly expenses with amount to give you an estimate.

Don't we all wish for simple, quick answers to complex questions?

So you are a family of four. I am assuming it is 2 adults and 2 children? How would you define "a decent life"?

In my humble opinion, with $45K you will live pay-cheque to pay-cheque. If frugality is your motto, you might be able to save a bit...really just a bit.

I agree with others here in that the more info you provide, the better you can be helped...just from others' personal experiences.
