You get NO RESPECT there in India. So, be prepared for surprises. What is your Nationality and the kids' who will be entering the Schooling there. They want to know all of the details well in advance. Also they want ENTRANCE FEES deposited before they will consider with your request. {They all think that they can do what ever that they can do get a few bucks out of it.} After completing all of the paperwork, you will be provided with a seat for the very NEXT Year.
There are a few good schools for the NRI's and they will cost you an arm and a leg. But they are really nice to the children. They hold nothing back. You get the BEST.
Now to the very FIRST Question.. : Where do you want to enroll them and will they finish all of their Schooling there in India? If not, when will they be returning back into Canada to resume where they left off?
You will have to plan ahead and get prepared for it right now.!
FH.

Don't pose as a NRI or Canadian citizen when you enrol them. Otherwise they will rip you off, right - left and centre in various fees. You are a cash cow for them. Different fees for local students and NRI.
At the most act as if you have come back to India for good , after being abroad for few years. No need to inform Canada about anything either, otherwise their OHIP will be cancelled as they are out for a long time.
Just tell the school that's all and get all proper documents like school report cards, school leaving certificates, school references. Get their local ids made like Aadhaar card, will come in handy in future.
Its going to be a cultural shock for them for sure. A local contact is a must for them and the school, if you want them to be treated well. If both parents are here in Canada, they will not get a great treatment.

I hope everyone of you has OCI card. If a relative of yours can visit them on regular basis after your wife come back, it might be better.
If you are not going to accompany them, you can prepare this letter. Usually they do not ask unless traveling via US.

Blue_Peafowl: If they are going to stay in India just for 2 or 3 years, do not worry too much about it.
Also no need to spend too much time on running and shopping around for the schools.
You may join them in a school that is safe, close and convinient to your home in India so that it can be managed efficiently and safely for those who will be doing it in India. Do not worry about school rating etc., as majority of schools in India take interest for teaching math, science and other subjects. Also kids may not face much challanges during transition (when they move to India also when they come back)
If you want them to keep there for more than 3 years / till they finish high school, then it is going to be a entirly a different ball game.
I know a few people in India studying regular school with OCI. No problem. There is no extra fees and they are considered as Indian citizens (for fees and otherwise).
If it is a full time residential program, then you need to have a local guardian who can be contacted anytime and who will have to take all decisions.
If it is a regular school, the children will be staying in the house of the guardian and go to school and come back from school daily. The guardian is responsible for all decisions.
Since the children are OCI, there is no need for any police station to be visisted or the FFRO office to be visited.

Hi
FH: I have very strong hold at school ( politically ) - admission is not an issue. the school ratomg is #1 in Gujarat and # 10th in India
_ i am planing to put them for 2017 to 2019 ( right now they are in Grad 2 and 4) -
Canada_Ka_Bhikari: actually main reason to send them to india is to learn our culture ( we are ready for Culture sock ) - Again, it will be close to my home and i have family there ( very well connected)
rajcanada: no we are all citizen no one has OCI - not planing to get one yet
Gurram :I'm just sending them for two max three years - we are very busy here in Canada and we noticed coming 24 months will be very hectic due to work load and we wont be able to give them enough time. - i have family back home who can take care of them but i rather put them in boarding school where they will grasp discipline and management skills along with culture value
Also, thank you all for inputs - my main concern was about legal steps to follow but i can see from replay that i should not need to worry to much.
