I think those dreams were ones which you dreamt of on your own -and set goals to go by in your life after landing in Canada - i dont recall the cic website saying anywhere that in Canada you will get this, this& this - which if you cant get - you can cry on my shoulder or sue the government !!))

Absolutely. No one said you HAD to come to Canada...you could very well have stayed in India. You saw your own dreams, man! When you thought you could make it in Canada, all your efforts, your determination, your money, your focus was directed towards moving to and settling down in Canada. It is your own life! YOU have made it so far and YOU are going to make it further too. When you decide to move to Canada, it is your decision...nobody else's. And when you finally move, you HAVE to prepare yourself well for all the possible hardships that you might face.

Take an ad, for example. The ad shows you a wonderful product with all the good things associated with it (and never the bad ones). You revel in the colourful pictures, the special effects, the thought of owning that product and what good it will do to you and your family. Now, when you finally decide to buy the product, it becomes YOUR decision to do it. Remember, the product itself may be very good, but you may not be liking it after buying it...what do you do? Blame the product? Yes, everybody does that. But does anybody blame himself for having gone ahead and bought it? Rarely, if ever. Okay, for argument's sake, let's assume that the product is bad for some. But remember, that the product wouldn't be in the market if it was that bad. Definitely, there are a majority that are enjoying it. If the soap that does harm to your skin is considered bad, maybe you should check if your own skin is allergic to soaps.

No doubt there is more money here.. but the main question is if somebody invites( since they put their ad all over the world... aaao aao hamen aapki zaroorat hai.) by declaring themselves( wrongfully, of course) as number one country in world to live.... and asking to check our degrees.
Yeh dhoka bhi kaha jaa sakta hai.
I am not saying that I am unhappy.. but their ways r not of genuine people or country.. they conned us into coming here.
One says that why you came here.. because they sounded genuine but they were not... Australia does not call so vehemently.. no othere.. It is only because they can not do without immigrants that is why they r calling... and when u need us .. treat us better.. again i would say that It is good here( mostly because of money and conversion factor) but it should be a better treatment for immigrants when their future is dependent on us .. they do get more otherwise who wouldCALL OUTSIDERS TO ONE'S COUNTRY .. WILL YOU?..... IF U DO NOT NEED THEM?...
so
BE SURE THAT THEY NEED US ...
so..
TREAT US BETTER .. GIVE A LITTLE MORE .....

AND NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT RESPECT..
eVEN A GOOD EARNING INDIAN IS NOT TREATED WITH RESPECT.. HELLO ,HI, HOW R U ,DOES NOT COUNT..

If Canada is developed country, just compare it,s performnace in Olympics & you know the answer. As they say they are Still Nort America but compare its performance with other part of Nort America. ( You Know better US of A). So, my point, whatever progress Canada has made is because of Migrants since last many yaers, so for Canada Govt, Migration is necessicity. they need us more than we need them. They are taking more & giving less.

I remember having read sometime in my high school science class, a principal (was it Bernauli's principal??) which says that if there is a passage available, gases from high pressure will move to areas of low pressure automatically - or something like having two jars having water at different levels, and if they were connected, water will automatically flow from high level to lower level jar till they are at the same level.

:D Good analogy by Chandresh ....tho i feel it is Universal gas law and Pascals Law....hehe....i could be wrong tho.

Now what Canadian govt gets from us ?

i dont have accounting background but with simple maths lets see

lets take avg $15000 per immigrant for 200,000 immigrants every yr. ( tho i feel avg would be much higher)

that brings fresh influx of over $3 billion every yr into Canadian economy.
and even if each immigrant pays an average of $10,000 as taxes every year the tax base by new immigrants just doubles the next year not just by those who came in previous year but also with the fresh crop of new immigrants. So the next yr the economy grows by $6 billion just by immigrants of 2 years !! and the tax base grows.

I'd hazard a guess....that an average immigrant essentially pays from pocket for all the benefits one gets here from Healthcare to EI and all the rest. So essentially , immigrants are a self sustaining community. The rest of the Canadians would be up in arms against immigration if immigrants were even slightly posing any strain on the local economy. And with the fresh taxes coming in the aging population gets filled in and the retirement benefits remain fundet for the retiring baby boomers.
Thats the macro economic benefit where immigrants come in and pay for their inclusion into populace here.

Now on a micro economic level , the analogy of pressure difference works very well on individual levels. Despite all the hardships imigrants generally do not return in large numbers back to india....in most cases they gain something by being here as well.

So in most parts Canadian govt and immigrants need each other...and no one is doing anyone a favor.

because after having winding up all the things back home and now going back ,starting from beginning will be as bad as being here. One cannot start a third life again from beginning so easily. so many prefer to stay here , and atleast they have reputation of being NRI, who cares and who knows what they do here?
