people in developed countries are more self disciplined than under developed countries.
In what ways they are more self disciplined. Their culture is one mess. Their policies are in haywire. Biggest of scandals are revealed here.
Thanks Mr Gullu and Procan for their inputs.
Procan , you had mentioned there are cheats who offer HRDC validated jobs. Did you come across any body? How they make people fool.
Some agents in Delhi are offering HRDC jobs.Would it be wise to go with them if I want to hasten the PR visa process. What should be in our check lists while dealing with them.
Seeking advice from all across the board.
Regards
Rajarshi

Dear Rajarshi
Most of the people offer you HRDC approved job offer say that it is only an "OFFER", you have to look for "REAL" job after you land in Canada. Also, check their charges......one famous consultant W**** quoted INR 5Lakhs....

. Learning a language is easy when you have people around you who speak that lanuguge otherwise its kinda difficult, more so if you are working as well.
Dear Gullu,
Merci mile foi!
I understand practice makes you perfect.
If u don't have people around you who can help u practice, then I think your certificate course has been a waste.
Try to get hold of literature on the language to keep abreast.
I have heard there are a lot of bilingual jobs available, but they are all at starting level, and do not pay more than Can$ 35000 P.A
Good luck to you. "ghar mein dekha tha"

Hi preet
I too applied in Dec 2003 rcd AOR in Jan 2004 and since then no development. I applied on my own and submitted IELTS results (overall 7.5). Someone told me we may have to again appear for IELTS as the results are valid for perhaps just one year.
My mobile no. is 09868400327 (New Delhi)
Keep in touch.
Bye
Vijesh
Hello people,
Its good that Gullu has started this thread. I applied in Oct 2004 and hv recd the AOR. After that I did some "research" on this and here are my findings. This info is based on friends and websites.
1. These days it is taking around 3-4 yrs to get immigration (w/o interview) if u have all yr documents, fees, funds in place.
2. Why this 5 year processing time is showing up is because people who hv applied around 2000 r getting this visas now. But this is due to the fact that most of them were asked by CIC to reapply because of the "class action suit" , lowering of points, introduction of new forms etc.
So I presume, people who have applied after 2002 wud be in a better position because by that time IELTS was made mandatory.
2. However true it may sound, HRDC approved jobs will just give u additional points but it does NOT reduce your "process" time. And that is the precise reason why it is difficult to get an HRDC approved job. No employer wants to get his position approved by HRDC for an employee who has no idea when he wud be able to land in Canada to take up the job.
3. Knowledge of French is an advantage no doubt but to get any mileage out of that in the application - you hv to give TEF (u need to earn 2 points to show u hv basic knowlege which I believe is difficult to achieve with 1 -2 year courses unless ofcourse u hv studied French in school/college). So it is better to land in Canada and then go for their free 16 week course in French for new immigrants - this is just to provide a working knowledge so that u r better equipped.
4. Incase we want to "make it" there we hv to start preparing for it here. So while one is waiting for his immigration to come thru', one cud go in for software courses like JAVA, .net, Visual Basic etc. which cud give u jobs within a couple of months. After all they may not mind hiring u for programming jobs rather than hire u as their marketing manager who has no idea about the "local market" or product base.
5. People have mentioned that going thru a consultant does not really help and some of them have managed to get thru but when i downloaded the forms, its not really clear as to how much info one should give. Especially when u come to the education and employer records info - do u just give your work experience certificate or shud u also include the joining or resignation letters. After all there shud not be any doubt in the minds of CIC if the experience certificate is fake or not. So when i hired a consultant (though no other benefit came out of it) atleast he told me to give as much info as possible and at one go so that CIC does not really have to ask for additional documents etc which might lead to further delays.
Before i get any "sarcastic ones" on the above info - I wish to add that this is based on what i have managed to find out till now. Your versions might be different but i hope this helps the "future immigrants".
And of course lets all keep in touch ....... the batch of 2004 !!
Bye everybody and take care !!
