They prefer to hear great predictions about India, even if not backed by past performance, or current facts.

By the way, these "patriots" are the one who have chosen to eke a living in Canada, instead of serving their "motherland". Sheer hypocrisy!

Thanks. Agree that it is hypocritical to not care about "internal" stuff when you're comfortable in a country that offers you the liberties you want.

I wish for India to have real progress though and am cautiously optimistic. Like someone else said, I could not care less about superpower or not, so long as the fundamentals are strong and people are happy. In the end, that is what really matters.

Personally, I think it is a good thing as I'd rather have the world led by the US than China any day.

Other wise today Canada having such a better infrastructure should have been growing much higher economy wise ..... but that s not happening .........

That is what I said in my other post that despite clean air, clean water, free (excellent education as other say) education, world class infrastructure blah blah Canada's economy is not booming. WHY?
This means there is something different required to boost the economy. I feel that is job opportunities and consumers. India has both even if there are other issues. No company wants to manufacture anything in NA which cannot be sold to 400 million consumers in India. Companies do not have any emotions attached to any country and they are run based on pure economics.
In this internet world, technology is not hidden anymore and there is nothing India cannot achieve

BTW, US dollar is temp. hype and it is time to sell it now. Wait and see its condition after Nov. election. Don't be fooled by the election year.

And thats exactly what I m trying to say that economic growth is independent of a lot many things other wise India would not be having a greater rate of economic growth and so with China as well ..... It would have been the 1st world countries ... And when it comes to exports , all the corruption and politics is unidirectional in increasing the exports............. same is with China and with the resources these countries are growing economic powers ... China with its military edge .. a rising super power ....

BL seems to be more interested in articulation of unclothed emperor and fat men rather than following the facts ....

Per him US is all a goody goody with all the wrongs it does and per him the world is foolish who had let USSR chart a major course of history in the previous century as a SUPER POWER .... and the same world who acknowledges China as a rising super power and India as a rising economic power ........ Per him US is a super power and USSR was never one and China can never be another one ...... baloney in the face of facts !!! ... if USSR went down it was due to economic and political reasons not because it did not give liberties to citizens ....... we should know the difference .... China is different in that respect as it has grown economically as well ...... it still has nothing to do with liberty or other things ....

Perhaps he needs to understand that economic or military might depends little on liberties and blind people and justices and fat men and unclothed emperors ....... otherwise Canada would be in place of China today in terms of economic growth ...... :D

What can I say ... I appear to be re iterating myself now and guess have made my statement .... for the readers to judge on their own .... rest my case now .....

Got work to do today .... sorry tempted but would not wish to continue this further for now ...

Absolutely True... Rather, this is true patriotism; that even in Canada we tend to think about the prospects & discuss about India.

And yes, there's a reason why a lot of us are in Canada.
Majority are just counting days/years, so they can go back to India & retire peacefully.. because by the time we retire, the canadian social system (& health system) will be broke enough to take care of all these huge grey hair population. The system here isn't designed to take (or withstand) overload, which is bound to happen..

I have already lost hope that I will be taken care by the govt and get any valuable pension after I retire. So try to keep myself healthy so that I don't get any help from the so called excellent healthcare system and doing my own financial planning thinking that there will be no pension by the time I retire.

I was just trying to simplify it for you since you were having a hard time comprehending. That's the point of analogies.

So the crux of your point is internal structure has no bearing on a country's super-power status. A superpower is someone who can bully someone. Fine - live with that. No issues from my side.

Where did I say US is all goody goody? I clearly said that US is not perfect but is a better choice for world leadership because there is no better alternative currently. But yes, you have a hard time comprehending that.

It is hilarious how you're hell bent on defending the superpower status of a country that no longer exists and that fell like a house of cards for the world to see. Even if it was one, what does it matter now? It proved my point that the missing internals resulted in a chaotic tumble and disintegration. I hardly see any influence of the former USSR on the world now. Compare that to America's influence in the world today.
And yeah, with it communist system, China will never be another USA. It is a complex topic of balance though and you won't understand, so let's leave it there.

Perhaps you don't understand the difference between growth spurts and sustained development/global influence. I can sense your frustration with analogies so don't bother.

You're only helping yourself.

Who said economies should always be booming? And what good is a booming economy that cannot provide basic human needs? India's economy is booming - why are you or Fido not there then if that is everything? Or maybe in China?

Lastly, can you quantify your US dollar prediction after the Nov election so that we can come back to it then? What do you think will happen on Dec 1 since you're so convinced about it?
