Bhanu Athaiya for best costume design - Gandhi
Satyajit Rai - Lifetime achievement
Gulzar - Best lyrics - Slumdog...
ARR - Best song and background score - Slumdog
Resul Pookutty - Best sound mixing - Slumdog

I believe there is still one person from India/Indian origin who won an Oscar few years before. Cannot recollect..

So AR Rahman was weird... abruptly ended his acceptance speech and RAN off the stage? what was that about? What's with the running?

I agree...he should have prepared a good speech knowing that he is standing a good chance of getting the award. He was representing India and had a good opportunity to make an impression..
