Since the time of Mahmud of Ghazni in 997 AD to 1858 when the British took over. For 800 years, the non ROP population were slaves, forced to covert or death. Over 70 to 100 million people were slaughtered. This was the biggest genocide ever to take place in the history of mankind.

We learn about the holocaust that Hitler committed. Yet, the Indian government hides the genocide that took place from the time of Mahmud of Ghazni.
Sikhism was founded by Guru Nanak Sahib. Guru Nanak Sahib was born in a Hindu family but he never adopted Hindu religion. On the other hand he rejected Hinduism and its rituals. He refused to wear Janeo (a thread which is sacred to the Hindus). For a Hindu Janeo is obligatory (though most of the Hindus have forsaken it now). Mohammed, the founder of Islam, was born in a Quraishi family. He founded Islam and rejected the religion of the Quraishi Arabians. It will be wrong to call Islam as a branch of old Arabian religious belief. Moses, the founder of Judaism, was born in a family which worshipped idols. Moses rejected idol worship. Christ was born to Jewish parents. No one will define Christianity as an offshoot of Judaism. Similarly, Guru Nanak Sahib, though born to Hindu parents, founded a distinct religion.

WHEN SIKHS DO NOT CONSIDER THEMSELVES TO BE HINDUS THEN WHY HINDUS INSIST ON IT
The answer to this is Sikhs do go to Hindu temples and Hindus also go to Gurdwaras.
None of the other religions in question go to the holy places of the other religion.

Visiting each other religious place does not mean one has changed religion or those religions has merged. So many go to Ajmer's dagarh, have they become muslims. Taj mahal is a tomb with a mosque people visiting it would not become muslims. Praying each others diety can not mean that sikhs are hindus.
A true sikh had been taught that their is only one god, hindus have 33 crores gods and more are adding each day.

and who are u to define that Sikhs are Hindus. I am true sikh and I am not Hindu. That is fine. I have no intention in future to become Hindu. Happy to be sikh.

Well, among the Muslims their are Wahhabi who consider themselves to be true Muslims. Other's like Shia's or Ahmadiyya are not considered Muslims by Wahhabi.
It depends which school of thought you subscibe to. Not very different from your case.
Most Hindus accept Sikhs as one; and vice versa.
Oh, I am not sure about 33 crore. Last, I researched it was 34 crore.
