Oh yeah? The following are STILL cheaper no matter where you live in the US:

1. Car Insurance
2. Cell Phones
3. Gas
4. Internet and Cable
5. Eating Out
6. Designer Clothes
etc.
etc.
etc.
You get the point.

Anyways, since you "personally haven't lived there", I won't even bother challenging your views any more :D

Thats exactly correct my friend. In my earlier post also i have mentioned that if you live in Toronto, you won't like to live in any other place in USA other than NY City, SFO/ Bay Area (California). Living in Midwest and other cities is like a exile if you move from Toronto area.

Is that your "learned opinion" or did you read that somewhere on the Canucks'R'Us blog? Just trying to figure out which magic hat you pulled that fact from???

Have you ever lived in the mid-west, or for that matter anywhere in the States? And btw, I have yet to come across a feature of Toronto that's not "already available" in a major US city (including the land of exile - The American mid-west)? :h

For fu*k's sake, we got a 24 hour "Super Wallmart" now! We still don't have IHop or Fuddruckers or...................

Yes everything is expensive here. What next, what do canadians do to lower the prices? Do you have any suggestions or you wanna just sing "price anthem" of US ? Do you have any solution to bring it down? If not then just sit and relax (wait for your passport to go south), beacuse everybody knows that US prices are less than canadian prices.

Hey Spaced Man, I don't sing "price anthem of the US" cuz there is no such thing :p The correct term is "Star Spangled Banner" and it doesn't have any refrences to prices.

My solution is simple - I don't buy anything from Canada except groceries & gas. For everything else - be it houseware, clothes, shoes, electronics etc. etc. etc. I go to Buffalo.

Why drive 1.5 hours for stuff I can buy here? - It makes fiscal sense. Even with the gas spent on driving, I still end up saving 25%-35% or even more in some cases.

What about duty at the border? - Well, you just have to get a little creative :D Afterall it's your money.

Doesn't this hurt the Canadian Retailers and hence the economy? - You bet it does and I wish more and more people would do so. That's the only way retailers will start to listen and lower their prices.

No body asked you where you shop and where you buy stuff. I asked if you have solution to lower prices, if you don't have then sit relax and wait for your passport.

Regarding going to Buffalo for shopping, you are smart enough and maybe not other people are as smart as you. :)

And BTW price of Hydro and water bills is cheap in US too. Has anybody considered going and taking shower there? :D
