CD's,
Youwould remember that I applied for OCI card on the 3 rd. of this month. I had left all my documents with the CGI, Toronto.
Yesterday I got them all back. The Indian counsulate General had promptly returned it. All documents that I gave came back. There was a note saying that my documents were accepted on the 22 nd. of April (19 days time) and that I should expect the OCI to be processed in 2 MONTHS. They had written that, if my online status says that the OCI has been sent to Toronto, then I should visit the GCI on any working day between 3-4 to get it stamped.
On a side note , they did accept my pictures on a white back ground and also accpeted the faulty thumb impression for toddlers.
Hope this helps someone in CD.

Peace out

If it is too much of a hassle to find old cancelled passports and landing papers, I do not know how perturbed you will feel when they ask you to produce your original landing papers when you first apply for Pension 25 years later!!!!

And by the way, the income tax act requires you to keep your income related papers for 7 years!

Only God can help people who find it too much of a hassle to keep and find their very important documents

Dear Cds who have already received the OCI - do we need to send total 2 copies or 3 copies of Form A+B? The website mentions 1 set with set of original documents + 2 sets of form A+B..please confirm.
Thanks in advance.

Two set of forms A+B with photocopies of passports, citizenship paper, etc., attached to each set. Also you need to send originals which they will return.

Does any one remember if the Indian consulate returns the indian passport after cancelling it when you apply for Indian visa for the first time on canadian passport?
Or do they keep the damn thing?
Also has anyone obtained duplicates of landing papers......10 years after you became citizen??????????????????
This OCI thing is a pc of crap

If its a piece of crap..why bother applying for one? And remember the days you spent waiting for the post man to deliver that 'damn thing' to your door step a few years back?

And BTW..the queries you have, I consider them to be common knowledge for anyone of Indian decent who has acquired Canadian citizenship recently....Good luck though!

And also...putting '?????????????????' after a query would only let people have an impression how confused you are...and not that how legit your question is...hope you get the point.

Love your alias anyways...[:)]!!
