The book is short, concise and powerful. In Costco it is $10, hard cover
From the introduction, "Allow the book to do its work, to awaken you from the old grooves of your repetitive and conditioned thinking." That explain all. Each chapter is devided into number of small sections, 2-3 sections a page.
I am puzzled with the author, Eckhart Tolle. He quotes from the Vedas and Upanishads and clearly explains the meanings in his books. I did not know that they were translated to English. And what are the chances of me reading them? ZERO. At least he has read, I suppose, to quote the texts.

I was also thinking that do the authors talk of too much cruelty in books or the world really is full of such cruelty and cruel people ? Some events events they describe are so depressing, shocking, disturbing.....I am thinking of giving up reading novels...
Like I read "The Road" (could not complete ...so disturbing)..."The Fine Balance" ....extremly hopeless....." The purple color" I know is a good read but could not go beyond first few pages ....
What do others feel ?

Almost finished reading this book and was sorely disappointed. It is supposed to be a Count of Monte Cristo tale but relies on too many coincidences to make it work, which make the storyline less credible.
FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE READ IT
We have the main protagonist who cannot read and write despite attending school suddenly become an A level student.....after meeting a lookalike in prison. Well why did he not do well in school in the first place if he was sooo bright? Also what are the chances that two people who look exactly alike will hook up in prison???
Water for elephants by Sara Gruen, not an outstanding read but was good. A different story from 1930's from the world of circus, I liked watching the pictures in it.
Small Island by Andrea Levy, this one was very good read especially if anyone is interested in Second World War and its effect on the lives of people living in British colonies and Britain. The author was very good in character writing.

Yeah man great self-improvement book- better than any of the others I've read.Maybe because of the title.
reading this has inspired me to read his other great work-
'Losing my virginity.'
This guy can really pick his titles.
As an FYI- he is the billionaire owner founder of the great number of available stuff under the brand name of 'Virgin"
Ok, OK that was just in case. Not everybody has heard of him like.
