Today there is this interesting article in The Hindu titled ''Radical face of Saudi Wahhabism'' by S. Irfan Habib. An year before such write ups appearing in The Hindu was unthinkable except those decrying the organisations belonging to the majority religion. May be it has got something to do with the change of guard. To that extent we are glad The Hindu is changing from its own Radical Face. Looks like the terrorists' diary is full for the coming decade.

Gaulam ji: Your concerns are very understandable. But this thread is more to help understand the dangers that will directly affect moderate Muslims like yourself.

For instance, in today's news, a hard working, electronics engineer father finds both his children having fled home to join ISIS. They were found participating in the beheading rituals !!

Rajgopalji... who told you I was a "moderate muslim"? I am a bad Muslim from every angle. In fact, I have gone totally off all religions. Somewhere along the way I lost my faith! I blame Plato (the Greek thinker and philosopher of antiquity) for the monotheistic religions Judeo-Christianity and their off-shoot Islam. At a very early stage, Christianity was hijacked by the Roman Emperor Constantine to get total control of the Roman population. Had it not been for this Christianity would have died an unceremonious death. The rest is history. St Augustine adopted Christianity after experimenting around with other faiths, and being a great scholar who admired Plato's teachings was instrumental in cramming Christianity with Plato!

As for my concerns about Muslim youth (in my community?) : I dont come across that many, and most of them are hard working and well meaning; the thing is people should not feel marginalized and feel the need for gravitating towards such radicalism. Towards that end, we should all of us try and engage with them rather than isolate them.

The silver lining I see is .. that they are having a conference of top Islamic clerics ( Shias and Sunnis ) and discussing how they can correct the religion so as not to raise fanatics and radicals like Al Qaida , Al Shabab , Boko Haram & ISIL which are isolating Muslims ..

If they come up with it , good for the world as it would have a new order and Islam would be a tolerant religion as others but I feel that this recurring pattern of Islamic violence exhibited historically and in vastly different regions of the world owes its origin to the diktats of the religion itself.

Imagine what worse can you do other than making others believe in that killing others is good , and that they have done the biggest service to God if they kill even if they have to lay down their life for it ....

You have created a religious army which is bent upon routing other religions .... look around , check historically as well.


Not every one is like that but even if 30% are , there s a big , big problem that the religion has created for the world and what we are witnessing .
