I do have solid Muslim friends but they are not fundamentalist and we hardly discuss religion ........... and yet I have met a number of Muslim fundamentalists who would inadvertently bring religious views into every conversation ....

There lies the difference b/w moderates and fundamentalists .... Its the fundamentalists which need to be reformed .

To the CD s who are offended by my posts ... with folded hands and humility I wish to re state that I say nothing against the moderates or those who believe in equality of all religions and co existence ........... Its the fundamentalists I despise .

Islam is the smartest religion. Look at Pakistan and Bangladesh. They have slapped India time and again and now India has accepted that they will always terrorize India. Islam understands nuances of democracy and has adapted very efficiently.

In next four decades, Islam will have maximum people in age range of 20-45. They will dominate and capture large part of the world.

It is better to recognize this fact and start adapting rather than complaining otherwise there will be lot of energy spent without any concrete gain. The best example that I can give is of Dr. Subramanim Swamy who is still venting against Islam while his only child and beautiful daughter is happily married to a Muslim guy (Suhasini Haider). This may well happen with any of us. Statistics are loaded in favor of Islam and they will rule the world.

Fido, have you ever thought of it this way:

- Fundamentalists exist in every religion.
- Fundamentalists thrive and spread when the populace are victims of oppression.

- Why in your mind, do you think christian fundamentalism cannot thrive but the Muslim one does so well?

- Do you think an uneducated man does not posses common sense?


To me every person is one and equal (Jew, Muslim, Christian, Hindu etc). They all want to play as young kids, grow up have families, play with their kids, grow old and die happy. If there is a mass deviance from this. Then it isn't the problem with religion or education it is a social problem....and you can imagine why this is so?

Just because the Quran say all resources of the earth belong to them I do not think a single ordinary Muslim will take it word for word. Same goes for the bible it says to stone the prostitutes, have you taken it for its word tried that? Have you seen any of the uneducated Christians try that?

Yes there are fundamentalist idiots every where. You cannot get rid of them but only stop them from thriving...and to stop it would simply mean you do not marginalize the people and their religion.

Sadly that is what is being done today and its being blamed as a religious short coming when it bites back. Don't you think so?

Perhaps Gandhi ji shared your thinking of all religion / people being equal and hence these problems are growing ....... Half of the problem was solved when majority of Muslims went to Pakistan , a quarter remained because of Gandhi ji over tolerance .... I wish they had also gone .... but alas there are some parasites left who are abounding because of people's tolerance and abusing it .

Although you did not answer my query about confirming that such fiery sermons do not take place in mosques - I will answer yours ... I have clearly heard the mosque's loud speakers blaring " we are being opressed in all parts of the world - Russia , Kashmir , Phillippines ........ yadda yadda .... " ......

Have you seen sweets being distributed in India on Pakistan's victory ... I have .... you need to observe from close my dear friend .... I am not saying every one is like that , a good 50% may not be but those are the ones who are less religious ..............

If it was a soicial problem , it would have happened in all parts of the society ... why only with religion ...... ?

Have you heard loudspeakers blaring in Kashmir in 88 - 89 ... Just google and you would find your answers ...

But I agree with you in a way that if there are better education and awareness and jobs for people , they would have less time for religion and potential deviations . But then the q comes -- why is the problem not present in other poorer sections of the society ?? No Sir there s definitely a religion component to the issue .
