Guys, guys, guys
Never, ever ever forget the lady of justice with the scale....
Please listen to both sides of the story and then... start spewing out judgements.
As far as the story goes the MIL looks wicked, but I would really like to hear MIL's side of the story.

It might, but its still possible to do it if one has the guts to do it. Someone very close to me left their abusive spouse over 20 years ago IN INDIA and regardless of what society said , they held their head up high..and u know what? people respected them for not being the victim.

There is a saying that we are taught in schools (or at least when I was in school):

Hit me once..shame on YOU

hit me twice..shame on ME.

substitute "hit" with any other abusive verb..

'between the crocodile in the water and elephant on land being pulled by both sides' - thats the situation of the husband / son per Indian environment .

At more times than not , its the wife who out of possessivness , tries to wean away the son from his family ....

Without taking sides a son has to perform his responsibilities to both treading that middle line very carefully that he balances the scales carefully irrespective of what either thinks . Don t let the mother / wife dominate and tell them both whats right and wrong ..... draw the lines .

Maybe its a personal observation and out of context (apologies) but apparently the non virtue of jealousy and possessiveness reign nore in women then men .

Perfectly put.

The hubby is lacking in cajones but the wife herself has allowed the conservative norms to reign.
