Thanks for sharing the news with us . This comes as no surprise to me as i know that the medical system here is horrible. Many doctors (not all) that i met donot even know the basic quality of finding out what is wron with the patient. I fully sympathise with you.
Sunnybrook is considered as one of the premier hospitals in Ontario, possibly Canada. And they have the cheek to ask you for 45K more after the 50K that theu got from the insurance. Since it is free healthcare, Doctors (or any medical professional for that matter) donot take it seriously. I am reaaly frustrated to hear that not even one lawyer is willing to take up the case. How are you going to pay the 45K bill that Sunnybrook wants? What can happen if you refuse to pay? Have you written a complaint to the Ontario college of Physicians? Any reply/ response/ action from them?
They took a life by their incompetence and they want further money for that mistake? Too bad.
My prayers are for you and your family. May these corruput and imcompetent doctors be punished by God.

Sorry to hear about your mother in law and thanks for sharing the news with us all here.
I am still wondering why no lawyer is taking the case as the gross negligence can be proved about lung perforation from the medical notes and it could be a serious case against the doctor though a lot of cases are resolved before they reach that stage ...Ifeel you have a very valid case here

Also, I know we give the Canadian health care system a lot of grief, but this??
