Hi Transit and Kumar,
Although I am new to this, I have been following this closely. I am waiting for my immigration to come through under family class (spousal) category. It’s been almost 84 days since I sent my passport to New Delhi and I haven’t heard back from them. Its a little nerve wrecking to be waiting for this long without knowing how long this procedure could take. I was wondering does any one on this forum know how long on an average does this background check take. I am concerned coz I have been hearing different stories from people and some people have even told me that it could take as long as 1 year. ONE YEAR AFTER SUBMITTING MY PASSPORT???

Hi Skd,
We have been waiting for nearly 90 days now for the passports to be returned.We had emailed CIC,Delhi and were instructed not to contact them till Nov.As far as we know the CIC,Delhi should return the passport before the medicals expires.I can suggest that you could send an email to them to check on the status. All the best.

Hi all,

I recieved the strangest telegram from New Delhi High Commision today requesting me to showup in person at New Delhi High Commision for finger printing. I had submitted my passport to them about 3 months back and just today I recieve this request for finger printing...what does this mean? Why would they need my finger prints at this stage?
Can someone please help. Any ideas would help.
