I was going through your earlier posts,which are mentioned below,

I am facing same problem. My kids and my possport do not have surnames filled.
I applied for Immigration in Aug 2004 to CHC, London.
I got AOR in Oct, 2004. I am expecting another year before this issue becomes crtical and would like to be ready by than.
Like you I am residing in UAE and moved for migration as explained above.
I request your kindly advice me in detail, if possible, procedure or steps for adding surname in the passport.
Also clarify me, will that have any effect on current residence visa which is in the passport ?

I think my information will be helpful to you. There is a correction page in Passport book. If you had mentioned it correct on the form while applying for the passport and is office mistake. They will put surname on the correction page or the exact full name on correction page but this error has to be reported within 6 months of passport issued date. If it is your mistake in filling up form correct, you have to cancell this passport and reapply with correct name. Send copies of new passport to CHC reporting the reason for getting a new passport.
I had wrong DOB on my passport with which I had applied for iimmigration. Passport office asked me to get a new passport issued as the passport was issued couple of years back and traveled on that passport. I got new passport issued and informed CHC. My visa was issued on the new passport. No questions asked by CHC.

Try overtaking child's imagination
It arose because of my Son's name in the birth certificate. Since I was in UAE, the procedure I followed was, had an advt placed in India, a similar ad placed in the UAE, along with copies of the ad and the originals, gave the passport and appl form to the consulate for amendment. They cancelled the earlier passport and issued a new one. Let me mention here that since my son's passport was issued in UAE, it took me a month's time. I presume it would take longer from a country while the passport is issued in india
