I think the message to take from it is to be courteous and realize that everyone's time is precious.
If you see there is a line up for gas, and you just filled up, don't go inside the store for 5 minutes leaving other motorists to wait for you. Why not move your car up or out of the way?
If possible, get a speed pass or something similar, or use debit/credit and move it along, if you notice many folks waiting to fill up.
Also, there are some lanes that are designated only for speedpass use (i.e. no long waits). They should not be used if paying inside.
Get the "minority" feeling out of your head, your mind and your soul. Only then you will be peacefull internally in your life.

I agree, the only time i remember I AM a minority is when I am required to check that box in some questionnaire.

BTW, I never knew that a minority or an immigrant had any less right than a Canadian citizen - except that an immigrant could not vote or held a government job. Except for the fact that a new immigrant could not be aware of his/her rights.
On a similar incident, during my initial struggling days in Canada, I was shocked to hear a Pakistani colleague referring Jean Chretien as "our PM". At that time, Canada was still an "alien" country to me. I was surprised as to how a person, not of Canadian origin could refer to Canada as "my country"
