I am going to narrate my experience with police though it was not by any goras but unfortunately by another probably desi or Iranian.
We four people went to see a movie to a movie theater. This was my first time visiting a movie theatre in Canada as I am not a big fan of movies. I hate disorderly ways some of the desi places are managed. So we went early and asked the doorman for our seats. He told us we could sit anywhere. We grabbed the best seats. We told the doorman if he was sure we could sit anywhere as we will not get up once the movie starts for any reason. He said no there are no seat # on the ticket and we could sit anywhere. We made this clear to him few times.
After the movie started, we were asked to get up and take some other seats. We refused. So the manager called police. When the police came, we politely told everything that happened. The guy was honest and admitted that we told him in the begining that we will not move after the movie starts. So police said if I were them I would refuse to move. We said now that he has spoiled our movie we needed our money back. Police agreed but the manager refused. Police forced him to pay our tickets back. The police asked me why the customer service was so horrible in those establishments and why do we put up with it. I told him this is my first and probably the last visit to this movie theatre.

FYI, 99% of these threads have people whining about how they were better off in India so the "concerned CD brethren" simply asked them that if that were the case, why don't they go back? What's wrong with showing a little concern?

If you had somebody in India complaining about this and that, claiming that life was a lot better where they came from, what would you say to that? I mean a "logical response"

You are right, it would be wrong in the above scenario(s) but what about a situation where the person in question is claiming that they were better off in their native country and that they should go back; what would you do in a case like this? Any reasonable person would suggest going back. That doesn't mean that we are being rude or anything. We are just reaffirming a notion the person already entertains.
