Money may not be the only reason why people move out of India but those who are fat moneyed in India seldom move out.
Atleast I have not seen a lot of crorepatis moving out of India
It is the middle class people who form the good majority of movers ... sorry I meant migrants .. lol ..
I personally know a few who were really well off in India and still they moved. And unfortunately, even they initially stayed in places where I would not unless I have to - and it was the same scenario with them - they were advised to do that and not knowing any better (since 15-20 years ago internet was not so popular, specially in Asia), they did that. Thank God, I explored on my own and was able to move to a nice Condo in Thornhill within two weeks.
But on this site........it is always......live in basement/shop at walmart/do this cheapest/buy that cheapest. I am not saying it is wrong to save money, but is that the need of every immigrant?

You know Chandresh , what you observe may be in sync with the fact that most new immigrants use this platform to launch themselves in Canada and then when they have succeeded , they seldom come back to CD.
Initially a person needs to survive and for that we advise him frugality - so that he can survive with in the minimum needed and does not not get drained of his savings .... It is like a ramp to the highway.
When the same person gets a job and gets settled , 75% of the time , desis buy houses with in 2 years even if they have to shop @Walmarts.... Once they have steady jobs , they can decide whether they wish to shop @ Walmart or Holt Renfrew and I am sure we have both kinds of people here ... (You drive a Mercedes and I drive a Corolla for eg )
Once they are on the Highway , they can determine their driving.

Lol ! The only person clueless and misinformed here is you. We are not talking about the 10 % of the people, who have a good life, we are talking about the crores who are not.
I have NO clue , is that why farmers in present day India are committing suicides ? Is that why 55% of people in Mumbai apparently the richest city in India still live in slums !
Have you ever tried getting on a Mumbai local train ! 75 lac take it everday, both Western and Central Railway, and 8-10 people fall of everyday !
Women are very safe in India, is that why every local train has separate Ladies compartment to prevent men from molesting them
Only 3 % of India's population pays Income Tax, most don't make enough to pay IT and the rest have black money . So where are the facilities going to come from, if gov has Very liitle for infrastructure. Plus on top of it , lot of money is skimmed by politicians.
Whatever I said in the previous post about corruption, population , pollution etc etc etc , ALL hold true, are you disputing any of those realities and facts about India ? These are the present day facts about India, saying otherwise is living in a fools paradise

Isn't that part of the reason why people choose to immigrate?
In any case, my take on this is, there perhaps exists a certain level of income disparity, which provides partial reasons to immigrate. What I mean by income disparity is the % of income required to procure certain items.
For example - the % of average annual income required to complete a cash-down car purchase is one of the lowest in Canada (after the US). Mind you, I am not comparing CAD to INR, but its own respective currencies.
Or, the price of onions, for that matter, which appears to be a valuable indicator of inflation in India.
