Hi All,

I am planning to move to Toronto, Canada by mid of Aug 2013.

Appreciate if you could let me know the monthly cost of living for a family of Three (me, wife and kid). my Son is 3 year Old
Which place/area will be good for new immigrants to stay, would be better if it is nearer to all amenities
I wanted to know various costs in detail based on your past experiences as a new Immigrant.

I’m finance professional, worked in companies like GE and Tata. My experience working with these companies is in India, USA and Montreal. Will this experience help me in getting a job sooner?

Can I start applying for jobs from India now, three more months for me to land there?

Appreciate if I could get some thoughts/inputs from experienced immigrants.

Kind Regards
Deen Mohammed

Depends on lifestyle - 2500 (Basic) to 5000 (comfortable) to 10k (kinda lavish) per month..

Higher probability to get a job when apply in person (physically present in Canada)..

Please see how the costs have increased. :

EACH One has a different Experience. These prices mentioned here under are for guidance only. All the priced items will not be available for the prices mentioned at ONE Location. So, pay a little more if you are in a hurry and shop wisely. That comes with experience. And experience comes as you age.

Bedding & linens (above) in the link.

Initially stay at any place as a PG for a few days. Get your Qualifications Verified and Validated, which will permit you to seek a decent job anywhere in Canada. Find a GOOD, decent job and then look for a place to rent close to the work place. Ontario is currently screwed up in jobs etc., so any job any place is as good as the next province.

Crockery can break in transit. Why not pots and pans?

Hello RajCanada,

I am not a great packer of suitcases. It beats me, when I have to use a whole suitcase for pots and pans and cutlery etc., I rather have a dozen shirts and Six Pants and a set of ties to get started in an office or Dozen Sarees or Blue Jeans and tops, instead.

I went through this link and it says...
Set NEW $100 small set including cutlery plates, pots, ladles etc.,

ONE Set NEW ($100) POTS AND PANS (set) including cutlery plates, pots, ladles etc., I searched and found one as good and still available and there are a few a lot more expensive and still under hundred bucks. That is a good suggestion for those who are migrating into Canada.

From XSCARGO : http://www.shopxscargo.com/product_catalogue/cat_product_details.asp?category_id=14&product_code=28074&sub_category_1_id=74&category=Cookware

http://www.shopxscargo.com/product_catalogue/cat_product_list.asp

No one uses wall mounted phones, so you can suggest a Cellular one, no connecting charges or deposits or credit checks etc., No one knows what a new comer is in need of. You are free to suggest some thing that they will enjoy buying and using here. Lot of items are available here including a wet grinder.

This is a good suggestion to one wants to land and settle down. Not for those who want to land, sight see here and leave after a week and come back after Two or Three Years.

So, ask any question and some one will respond back with an answer.

Does it make any sense to you now?

FH
