Raj,
Azami must have been talking about immigration for one of his family members.
Azami has already a PR visa. See this : http://www.canadiandesi.ca/read.php?TID=14790
From his posts you can see that he is highly confused. You can understand this by his contradictory statements. At one time he feels that all his family members should be given immigration while just the next day he feels taht he will be better off in India after seeing some charcha posts/ parental sponsership time and requirements/ sibling immigration conditions. Also he thinks from the above post Canada is heaven on earth. Just the other month he was planning to be in India to look after his dad and now he says that he will use his PR visa. He does not know that for some professionals life can be hell in canada when compared to India. Is he prepared to take that risk. He is also not in IT.
For these kind of people, only experiences in Canada can teach them.
Azami, No hard feelings yarr!

Nice to see so many responces to the Salary Update. So lets sum up.

1-How many of you guys are in India (First Hand experience ) , your or my relatives in India usually do not share the true picture.............please come over , stay here for a few months, apply for jobs , go to the govt. offices for filing your taxes and them write back...............................................

2-I did not realize I was hurting so many CDs, you may please feel free to ingnore my update...........and assume that India is the best place as far as jobs are concerned................so when can we expect people coming back to India for a 42 Lac salary ????????????????. I am sure no one will turn up unless you have a bank balance of 25 lacs.

3- Lets face it , leaving your own country , people is the toughest decision.......all of us have done that............the reason behing most cases.......
better pay, better enviroment, better future for kids , better support system................................this is exactly what I had stated no ofence.

4- My spelling mistakes and my confusion as observed in this forum does not improve the situation in India............................... its still one country on the face of the earth where you can always come back.............

1-If you are extremly lucky , working in a MNC : U get 1 Lac Per year for every year of experience. ( 6 years exp u get 6 Lacs avaerage PA)

2- If U are from IIMs u will not be in India if you r the unfortunate one U get 2 Lacs for every year of experience .

3- Otherwise 20 % of private jobs are under 6 lacs per anumm

4- The rest are just trying to make ends meet

Add the 30-33 % tax that is deducted with nothing fron the government in return except for protection from our neighbouring countries.........and a lot of scams.

Add to it the quality of life which includes ( No regular electricuty in 90 % of the country , no water in the pipes , if there is something coming u can't drink it, no scope for getting your children admitted under a normal govt. school if you do get them addmitted they will surely have no future in this country, no health back up .....we live on our own expences or corporate health insurance)

But still you have the best sleep in the night if you are in India ( Do take me seriously, I have been abroad for almost 22 years & recently got an immigration visa to Canada which I will be using).

In short you have the world at your feet in India if you are getting atleast 100000 per month in your hand............else don't even think about it. Office is usual crap , with dirty polictics , you are a a success if your boss is delighted by your intrest in his personal worl ....else you will slog for ever..........................................happy festivities !!!!!!!!!

It seems you are working with Tata Indicom. Recently i had applied for its broadband connection and for last 3 months it is not working. No body bothers, no body replies even though i paid 6 monhts advance for my prepaid. Neither they are ready to extend my prepaid. I am F****** with their services.

It is third class company i have ever seen forget TATA name attached to it.

So if you work in third class company the people around you would also be third class.

Even Public Sector BSNL provides better job, Airtel is providing terrific service. Try to get into Airtel and your life might change for better.

May be yours do not, my reletives share only the real picture, both good and bad. I have seen their appointment letters when they came to me for advice!!!

What a coincidence! I called up my sister yesterday for Diwali and she gave me the good news that her son is further promoted.........no need to add that he must have certainly got a raise too. And fortunately I could talk to him too, since he had gone to Jaipur from Bombay to visit parents on Diwali!

And, no I am not going back to India, because without Indian experience, I cannot expect to get 42lacs there!

Here's a link to media publication announcing my nephew's promotion in 2003. Now he has been promoted as the MD - and he is less than 35 years old!

Fido,

If an IT guy is good, he/she will do very well in India where there is more action whereas jobs from USA/UK/Canada are moving to India or other countries where cost is less. Jobs in these countries are not secure whereas in India they can call the shots. Forget Infy, TCS, Wipro, and Satyam. Jobs are plenty in IBM, Accenture, Cognizant, etc.

Chandresh,

Read that article. Feels good. At the same time wondering what the hell I am doing in Ottawa with the federal govt. Its not only the salary that they get, its the perks too that add up. And they do get big time perks (free petrol, club membrship, house rent, etc). If teh house rent which is a major chunk is paid by the employer, then rest of teh salary is the pocket money (almost).

(a friend of mine is a manager in wipro and his 3 br apt rent is paid by them)

I agree with what you are trying to get across. But pray tell me whether a 10 lacs salary is better than CAD 70K ??

I mean thats what a 6 yr experienced guy gets either in Canada or in India .In the US it could be upwards of 100 K .

In India 10 lacs is good salary but does it compare with CAD 70 K / USD 100 K ?

I am trying to learn more into the comparision .
