If salaries are same or comparable some Indians prefer Canada over India for various reasons like Infrastructure, corruption etc.......
so it is upto individuals chioce.

I mean thats what a 6 yr experienced guy gets either in Canada or in India .In the US it could be upwards of 100 K .
In India 10 lacs is good salary but does it compare with CAD 70 K / USD 100 K ?
I am trying to learn more into the comparision .

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership
While I do not want to compare one country over the other,I am interested to know how some becomes so succesful and others are not...Is it the networking or the university/colleage they go to..
I have my neice and nephew both are from Bombay and both are commerce graduates with 80 plus % age, plus M.Com from Bombay university, Because they did not want to take the call center job, no one is making over 12000. p.m
Am I missing something ......42 lacs.... only specialized few can make...many will be happy even with one decimal inbetween the 4 and 2.!!!!
Fido,
I think CAD 70 K is equivalent to only Rs. 7 lacs in terms of purchasing power in any metro city.

Thats what Im trying to figure out. Out of CAD 70 K deduct 20K for taxes and 24K for living expenses . You are left with a saving of CAD 25 K which equals INR 10 lacs !!
It translates that CAD 70K job can give one a decent Canadian life and an net Indian saving of INR 10 lacs . What do you say to that ?? Or am I wrong in my calculation .

Fido.
It's difficult to survive in 24K living expense with a family (unless you don't have to pay rent/mortgage).
You should not convert CAD savings into Indian Rs. unless you are here for short term and plan to go back to India.
If somebody is living in Canada and the other guy in India, then Indian guy earning Rs. 10 lacs is a little better-off than Canadian guy earning 70K. I am just talking about salary - no other consideration.
Fido,
Ash20 is true. The more people you have in your family like spouse, infants, children etc.., at the same rate your expense will shoot up. Much more will be needed for each and every family member than for the same person in India. For eg. an Infants babysitting charges is around $800 a month here, where as i can get a 24 hours baby sitter for Rs. 3000 a month in TN.
As far as i am concerned and speaking only about madras,TN, I can expect to live the same standard as 70K in Canada and Rs. 4 lakhs in India (all annual salaries).
However , with the same stated salary, if i was really stingy, then i would save more in Canada, than i would be able to in India.
For equal balance of saving and enjoyment, Gulf would be the better option compared to Canada. If you had been in the Gulf, you can understand it. Indian atmosphere, foreign products/ environment, free paid annual ticket, Tax free salary, free medical, free housing, free food (in many cases) etc...
